Installing an SD memory card

I could not download the Pandora app until I deleted my music files (there were many). I will purchase an SD card. I read the manual re: the SD card, I could not see if it's necessary to store particular file transfers on it - or does the device realize internal storage is full and would do so automatically? I do see is Advanced settings downloads can be directed to the SD card, but I wonder about file transfers, such as when I connect the tablet to the pc via USB to transfer music?

The PC will also see the SD card installed on your phone when you plug in.

My question is will the Tablet automatically store uploaded music files on the SD card when there is no longer room on the internal memory? If not, I believe I saw a utility where I can moved downloaded apps to the SD card, but there are only 2 so there wouldn't be a huge amount of space gained..

It was easier than I thought - at least with Windows Media Player. I installed the new SD card today. In Windows Media Player the Sync tab will show the device's internal memory. There was an option 'Next Device' - when clicking that it displayed the SD card, which I then selected. I synced some playlists, the files were stored on the SD card.

As you said - and good that it does, so the file transfer destination can be controlled by the pc. Nice that the Samsung Tab 4 is compatible with music file transfers from Windows, retaining the playlist.

I just purchased a Note 5 and it came with a free Galaxy Tab 4. The phone I switched from, a Lumia 830, had an SD card so I'm trying to use that one. Problem is that when I plug it into the tablet, it doesn't recognize it. Is it because it was formatted for the Lumia? Why wouldn't the tablet see it and then ask to reformat? Help, the free tablet is only 16GB.
