Installing apps to SD card by default

I have put a 32 GB SD card into my new LG K7 in the hope of increasing the memory. I am trying to make the SD card the default for installations without rooting my phone. I have found many articles/instructions on line, but I always have a problem when I get to the part where I need to set the default installation location. The instructions advise me to type "adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2" (no quotes when entered) in the command window, into the command line. But when I do that, I am given an error message with a lot or programming lingo following the error. The error reads "Error: unknown command 'setInstallLocation'. Does anyone know what the command should be for the K7? Or can someone give me instructions specific to changing the install location on the K7 without rooting my device? Thanks.

It should be set-install-location (i.e., with the hyphens, not all glued together as one word).
