Unsure why CWM is not working. You could try installing ROM manager. That is by CWM and can flash the recovery so long as your device is supported. I think the site you linked to earlier had a description of how to do it.

yeah, I can't find the install packages option, it seems to be missing from the Recovery...

I think you should be able to start over.
Did you try installing ROM Manager?

rom manager says ClockWorkMod Rcovery is already installed, but when i try to do anything i get the message in the picture I posted.

I would start over again. Look over the instructions on the site. Maybe something was missed.
