I got in on that $1 Verizon iPhone 7 deal at Best Buy on CyberMonday as well. I literally go in at the very last minute(11:42pm CST). A hour later, the deal ended, since it turned Tuesday.

$1 huh? wow.... yeah I paid $99 for it on Sunday and ordered from Best Buy Online.... sounds like I ordered it too early.

Assuming you ordered it online, was a sim preinstalled in the phone when you got it, or just the one in the box?

The Verizon SIM card was taped to the outside of the sealed box. If you look at Best Buy's website, you'll notice that both the Verizon and AT&T verison of iPhones have identical model numbers.(assuiming same color/storage) That's because Best Buy only stocks 1 generic unlocked iPhone.

back when I was trying to do the same with my other credit card, AmEx, they accepted a store receipt belonging to my friend that showed the price...

so maybe you can use my Best Buy receipt as well... (but unfortunately, like Mrs. Clinton's emails, I had to redact my personal information )

also, yes, I bought the Rose Gold... don't judge me.

Thanks to all of those who answered questions previously. I'm almost "done" with phone upgrades, I just want to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

L1: TDP, purchased S7 on DPP in November that is now being used on L2
L2: UDP, upgraded 2-year contract on 12/11/16, purchase iP7 to be activated on L1

This is the Aohus method. L1 currently has an iP6 on it. I have already shredded the SIM that shipped with the phone. Is it as simple as taking the SIM out of the current iP6 on L1, inserting it in the iP7, and powering on?

I ask because we have had to use online chat several times over the last year to activate various Samsung devices. We kept getting error messages about SIM cards not being 4G (even though they were). It was never an issue since the Samsung devices were not purchased on L2's upgrade, but we obviously do not want to involve VzW to activate the new iP7.

Also, just to verify for others' benefit, L2 was off contract (month-to-month) for about 3 days, but the BCED is not until somewhere around the 25th. When the phone shipped from BB, the contract was extended. As of right now, everything looks perfect with the plan pricing on the VzW site. Hopefully we are good to go.

L1: UDP $50/mo version, month-to-month, have upgrade
L2: No data plan, month-to-month,have upgrade

Best Buy is doing their $1 phones right now on 2-year contract renewal, so I'd like to do this in-store, if it works out.
Questions:
Since L1 is on the $50 plan, can I just do the 2-year renewal on that line, without losing the UDP?
If I wind up upgrading L2 they'll make me choose a data plan and activate the new phone on that line. Last time I did this I could just re-activate my non-smart phone on L2. That removed the data plan. Then I moved the new phone to L1 (the UDP line). Will that still work? Or, will I be forced into a 2-year data plan commitment on L2 even though there is not a data-capable phone on that line?

The important thing is to NOT involve people. Do it all online. I'd go back to the Slickdeals and check out the No Data plan option it's there.

You can do the 2 year renewal for L1 without affecting your unlimited. I did this last night. I bought the s7 edge for 49.99 ($1 for s7) with free wireless charging as a gift for my wife. I use My Upgrade and My unlimited data is still intact. During the process I saw that I can keep My existing plan. I will pick up the new phone later. I maybe can just transfer my upgrade to my wife's TDP line but I am not sure about the process. Besides I would like to surprise her on xmas with a new phone since Her phone is already acting up.

Good to see this still works. I did this 2 years ago and now it's time for an upgrade again. 507 pages is a lot of reading that i haven't done on this thread. Mine is as simple as it gets, one line with udp on month to month and eligible for upgrade since 2-16 (waited for worthy device to get released). And the winner is the v20, the only device for power users with removable battery and sd card and rootable! I went into a vzw store and the jerk that i had to deal with gave me the same answers as before no,no,no,no to everything. So i'll try this online like the last time and if anybody can give me any current info on this i'd appreciate it. I'll probably get it from bestbuy.com and post the results!

Yes, just never put that phone on line 1. If you follow that one rule all will be good.
