[Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep (legacy) Unlimited Data on Verizon

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Thanks!

I bought a SIM cutter a while back. I've cut down my Micro to a Nano and put it back in my S5.

I know previously I had tried activating a NEW Nano Sim and putting it in with an adapter, but it wouldn't allow me.
Will I have any sort of problem using my current SIM in the new phone? (Since it's a cut down Micro and not a Nano?)

You should most likely be ok.

I like the "most likely" part. I'm doing the Smart Switch right now. The SIM fit into the phone just fine. The S7E is up and running.

Now I just have to keep my eyes open for the upgrade to drop off, correct?

Better Question: If I trigger an upgrade (2yr contract) on Verizon on my UDP line, but never activate the phone on my line. Am I good?

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

I remember being envious of ppl posting that they have used their upgrade and getting a second upgrade because their 1st one never went away. Well it seems to have happened to me.

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Hello, I have a quick question about updating with my UDP. I want to upgrade and sell my UG phone, however Apple is not giving me the option to upgrade through a contract, and BB isn't processing, Verizon is sending texts saying I need to contact CS to process my order. Is there anything I could be missing or need to do to upgrade with a UDP?

If you upgrade at a two year your UDP may be in jeopardy these days, even at best buy

i noticed the same thing for me a week ago when i did the bbm (ship to home and sell). what does that mean exactly? are we really able to upgrade without any issues? would still be fine if no action is done?

Such a blanket statement. Have any information why? Anybody losing their UDP? Any proof?

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Just a Verizon retail store manager whom informed me that UDP is still a target. He said that vz may start yanking folks plans depending on upgrade policy adherence and usage...an internal memo he didn't show me....so I'm using Swappa to stay clear of all that...hate to see someone take a chance with a feature that won't be replicated anytime soon

Yeah I had one tell me about 4 years ago I couldn't transfer an upgrade from my UDP without losing it. So they are not always the most dependable way to get information.

I have to do it in store due to the trade in, but it's still shipped to my house un-activated.

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Picked up a pixel about ten days ago from Verizon. Purchased it full price over 24 months, traded in an old blackberry Z10 and got 200 for it. For the next 24 months almost 9 bucks will be deducted from my bill and I keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan with no changes to it whatsoever. You have to buy full retail and make the payments.

You going to order another phone?

You going to do anything with the upgrade?

Happened to me to, but I don't know anybody who has done two upgrades. More worried about having the 2 year contracts stacking on each other getting a 4 year contract LOL.

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Yea I will eventually... none of the phones out right now catch my attention.. I'll probably use it on the next Galaxy Note, and due to the Note 7 debacle Verizon gave My main line and upgrade also!! But like I said I'm just going to sit on them till something good comes out.

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

I'm looking for Verizon to do away with all unlimited data plans in the near future now that the new administration is coming in and Wheeler will be replaced at the FCC. He was basically the only one stopping Verizon from doing so two years ago so I'm thinking this is a given. It's also going to be interesting to see how the President elect is going to deal with Net neutrality as well. Time to start shopping around.

That's not a bad option. I have a 6s plus and kind of like the Pixel not sure if it's work dropping my iPhone for.

Another good thing is that I am not under contract

Re: [Instruction] How to get a new phone and keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Just need some help here..

Line 1: ip6s UDP eligible CED 11/11/16, BCED 22nd of the month
Line 2: ip6s UDP not eligible
Line 3: ip4s UDP not eligible

My main concern is not getting hit with the $20 price hike for UDP on L1. From what I'm reading, I can still upgrade L1 now to extend my contract as long as I get the phone before my BCED ends?

As far as upgrading L1 without losing UDP, i can order an iphone from BB, destroy the sim upon receipt, either activate it on L2 Or maybe resell the phone (destroying the sim) without activating? Not sure which one is better or if there are any proven methods. Appreciate it..
