Interesting pause dialing problem. Solution?

I often dial a conference calling bridge where I use the ";" to prompt for when to dial the access code but am experiencing an interesting issue.

when I prompt to have my EVO dial the access code, it flies through the 6 digit DTMF number sequence so fast that the conference bridge inevitably picks up an incorrect sequence and I'm having to re-enter it manually.

For example, if my access code was 123456, the bridge hears 1223456 or 1234566.

I realize adding "," will insert a two second pause but is there anyway to simply slow the dialing sequence down just a tad?

I have the EXACT same problem. I have my work voicemail entered into my contacts with my extension and password in the number. This worked flawlessly on my Palm Pre, but with my Evo Shift, the system fails to recognize the extension and password at least 3/4 of the time. I'm positive that the problem is caused by the absurdly fast dial speed that the phone uses.

Meanwhile, I can't put pauses between the numbers, because the pauses are too long, and that causes the system not to recognize the number either. (I find it ironic that Android dials 10x faster than my Plam did, but then makes the "short" pauses twice as slow.)

Has nobody found a solution to this problem in all this time?
