International data roaming

Anyone have experience using TMobile internationally? Is the roaming at 2G speeds, or 3/4G speeds?

And... is it really free?

It's 2g and it's free. For 3g/4g you need to pay more.

I have yet to use it, but family members have used it and they loved it. It is "2G" but using 3G networks, so latency is low and you can use it for anything not network intensive. They all have told me how good is it and how much they loved the experience.

I am curious as to this also. I am in Canada for work. When I select to enable data roaming it shows up as 3G. I am weary of this because I do not want to be charged for the "upgrade"

I did verify that the data usage is in fact covered by my unlimited data plan. Also like mentioned above, the signal shown may appear to be 3g or better, however speed tests confirmed that the bandwidth is reduced to 2g levels. So you may disregard the "additional fees will be incurred when roaming" message, as it believe it to be a generic response.

Funny on our trips we get a SMS saying that Mexico is included as free international roaming for data and SMS and that calls will be charged for $0.20
