Internet Browser displays only white screen

I apologize in advance as this is going to be a long post, but I'm just trying to give whoever may know the answer to the question all the information upfront.

Nutshell: When I open the browser or try to load any webpage, it acts like it's going to load with the progress bar holding at 1/8 of the way under the URL bar, then it zips across real quick a second or two later as though it's loaded, but the browser just displays a white page.

Other parameters of this issue:
-I have access to my data network through t-mobile because my Facebook app and email work just fine. So my phone is obviously reaching the network.
-When I turn on the WiFi (and when it actually decides it wants to work - whole other issue there. lol), the browser works just fine as if nothing is wrong.
-No screen display issues because the URL bar is always there, keyboard pops up and displays for me to type, and the menu works allowing me to access the settings/bookmarks/etc.
-When I don't type in a URL, rather just perform a google search, it loads the google search results, but when I click to navigate to an actual webpage therein, I get the white screen. (I have my gmail account that I use for apps synced with the phone, so perhaps that's why it loads google?)
-I use the default browser, but it does this with any other browser I've downloaded (though, I've only tried Google Chrome and Opera).

What I've done thus far:
-I first cleared out all the cache/history/etc. No results.
-Next I powered down and took out the battery. No results.
-I then cleared out all the data for the browser which wiped it clean (bookmarks, passwords and all). No results.
-Called t-mobile. Powered down the phone, took the battery out, they did some kind of reset with the network (I guess). No results.
-They then had me perform a master reset on the phone to restore it to factory conditions. No results.
-Finally on the second call, they asked which version of Android I was using... it was 2.3.6 (whichever the very first version was when the S II came out)... So obviously the next step was to upgrade it to 4.1. Which I did (huge improvement btw... no idea why I was never told about updates to the android system. lol), but.... the white page still existed.

-I kinda gave up on it, then the following morning, I said, well, I never turned it off and took out the battery after the master reset or the android upgrade... let's try it. The browser worked just fine when I turned the phone back on. I thought the problem was solved... either the reset or the upgrade must have fixed it.

-Two days later (today), I open it up. Load a website. Then I hit "log in" to the website in question, and the white screen starts displaying again.
-Take the battery out after powering down (several attempts throughout the day), deleted the cache/etc., forced the browser to stop via the application management area..... still only get the white screen. And everything listed above once again holds true... facebook works... google search works... but navigating to a specific web address yields this white screen of death (as I'm now calling it).

So...... has anyone ever heard of a problem like this? Or does this sound like something that simply can't be fixed? I'm assuming since the problem is back that it must have been the master reset that wiped out whatever it was that is doing this-though temporarily. I just didn't power down and remove the battery after I did it, so I'm not 100% sure. But.... if that's the only way to keep fixing it, there's not much point in having a phone where I have to reset it to factory default every couple of days.

Thanks in advance for any insight into this issue.

-Matt

I've only had this problem with the UVL(xx) T-Mobile Radio a while back on Gingerbread and ICS as well as JB. Flashing the UVMV6 radio solved the problem for me.

Have you tried to reset the proxy and port from the APN settings? Sometimes that will fix a white page issue.

Hmmm. Haven't tried that. But now, after like 8 hours (without me doing anything to it) it's working again. But I feel like this is something that is going to keep happening unless there's a for sure fix to it.

Next time it happens, I'll try resetting that stuff in the APN. But also, if that was the problem, wouldn't that affect all internet capabilities on the phone? (just inquiring since I don't know how all that stuff works)

Can you explain that a little more? lol

Oops, sorry for the lack of info! :P

Anyway, what I said was flashing the UVMV6 radio solved my problem. (The radio the comes with newer T-Mobile Galaxy S2's with ICS already installed. Older Galaxy S2's with Gingerbread 2.3.6 installed had a UVL baseband which more-or-less provided less than stellar reception in some areas.)

Radios for android are labeled as Baseband Version in Settings and are drivers in a sense that help with the antennas in the phone. With root capabilities and a custom recovery, you can flash different ones with the process resulting in a positive or negative effect. A different radio may give you better reception than the one currently installed on your phone.

The radio was in a flashable .zip ready for use with custom recoveries such as clockworkmod or TWRP. (I don't remember which xda thread I got the radio from)

Relating this to your problem, check your baseband version. If it starts with the three letters UVL, you'll need to download the UVMV6 radio as the Jellybean OS update automatically changed the phone's radio to the one mentioned as a result of many complaints to T-Mobile about poor reception in strong areas and this "white screen of death" you also mentioned in the OP.
