I'm awaiting my SGSII Skyrocket that's in FedEx's hands at the moment and am excitedly awaiting my new toy. I've been a 3 year iPhone user, tested a WP7 unit for a month, and am now going full blown Android with my upgrade on AT&T.

Anyone else a convert that has some tips and comments on the change? I can't wait to test out LTE (yes, I'm in an AT&T LTE market).

You will be blown away from the LTE speeds. Your iphone friends will have screen envy!

Having said that give yourself a good three to four weeks to get up to speed with Android. There are some things iOS does better and some things Android does better. Give it time. Read, learn from this and other sites. Your initial battery life will suck because you will be using your phone so much, LTE and your battery needs a few cycles to get to optimal charge, but it will improve.

I switched when the Iphone 4 came out and I was pissed about the antenna gate deal. The SR is my 4th Android phone and I do not know if I would go back to iphone even though I am a huge apple products fan and shareholder :). I have had friends try android and they often get frustrated and switch back within the first 2 weeks. Give it some time!

Have fun!

I haven't gotten my phone yet, but I am switching from iOS to Android as well...selling the old iPhone 4 and using the money to buy the original SGS2 and pretty much all the accessories I need for it. I can't wait!

I converted about a week ago and love it. Had an iPhone 3g then 3gs then evo from sprint then back to an iPhone 4. This is the best experience I have had with one and after a week I think its staying.

Also came from the iphone 4. Skyrocket, in my opinion, is hands down a better phone for sure.

gave up on apple after the 3g. since then had the backflip and a captivate and now the Skyrocket. It is extremely fast and since you are in an LTE market your network will be amazing. I get about 11Mb down here in Philly on HSPA+. My last Antutu benchmark beat the Exynos based GSII.

I have had everyphone from the 3G to the 4. I only stayed.with as long as I did because I felt they were generally the best quality phone on at&t for a while. After the Attrix came out, I was extremely dissappointed with the iPhone 4. Live wallpapers, Widgets, a menu button. These ideas seemed fairly simplisitic, but the iPhone still lacked then. Drop down menu, true multitasking, toogle switches, android lock screen. You gain so much functionality for a.trade off of a bit of simplicity. after a week of playing around and understanding the phone, there is just so much more power. Just give yourself some adaptation time.

I am also an iPhone4 convert - left the iPhone4 in dust and went straight to Skyrocket! Have had the Skyrocket for two weeks now and so far it has been hands down the best phone I have owned. I love the way the OS operates, the phone looks/feel (even though some might feel it is too big for them).

But I am basically loving this phone - no regrets no looking back!

I am a convert also. I had a android (motorola droid first gen) and hated it. The phone was swapped out and had issues all the time. One uprgade would fix some problems and create others. I moved to the 3GS and had the same phone for 2 years but after the IOS5 upgrade the phone turned into a turtle. I love the features and screen of the Skyrocket. My Craigspro app had been screwing up alot on this phone and so far that is my only complaint. I have 30 days to return it we will see how it goes. I would have got a Iphone 5 when they were supposed to launch it but all we got was a rebaked 4. That is another reason I am trying Android again.

I am also an iPhone 4 convert. I just love the speed and the screen. I don't have LTE in Los Angeles but went down to San Diego yesterday and boy the download rated at 26Mbs.

Can't wait for LTE in Los Angeles. Love everything about this phone except for the Bluetooth pairing issues with my cars. The connection is not very sticky. Requires reboot from the phone to make it reconnect. Pain and Samsung has not been very helpful.

I converted to android on the day they announced the death of Steve Jobs (may he rest in piece). I was coming from the iPhone 4 and I don't think I will go back anytime soon. Just like a lot of you, I waited for the iPhone 5 announcement but it never came. So the switch to android became very clear. My first android was the OGS2 which I loved but I needed a bigger screen. So here I am with the SR which is the best device I've ever owned and Android which I grew very fond of.

LTE is now on in Los Angeles as of yesterday. Yesterday, I got around 13Mbs but today they are capping it around 3Mbs...It is still in test most in LA.

I just switched from an iPhone 4 to the Skyrocket. I have to admit the Skyrocket is a better phone for me. The only issue I have with it so far is battery life. My iPhone lasted several hours longer than the Skyrocket. Overall though, the Skyrocket has much more to offer.

Anyone worries about battery life, which is really the only downfall to this phone, should really consider a powerskin and juice defender ultimate. The combination of both does wonders to battery life.

Sent from my Skyrocket.

I tried downloading Juicedefender yesterday and it appears to be locked down by AT&T. Have no idea why, but it won't let me download it.

I switched from iphone 4 to skyrocket about 2 weeks ago. This phone totally rocks compared to iPhones. I had a jailbroken iphone so I had a lot of tweak going on but I just got bored with it because it was too limiting. Like some people have mentioned in the previous replies the battery life is the biggest thing that I wasn’t happy about after I switched from the iphone. But about a week ago I installed Juice Defender Ultimate and it has increase the battery life on my Skyrocket by 3 times. My phone was fully charged at 7:30 this morning, now its 4pm and its currently at 60% which is not bad considering that I have browed the web, downloaded bunch of files (probably around 100mb or so over 4G), checked facebook and messed around with SPB 3D Shell interface which actually drained about 20% of the battery by itself because of its 3d interface etc.
Overall if you install JuiceDefender you should get a lot more hours out of the skyrocket.
