iPhone 6's are bending when sitting down?

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

If anyone has to take physics it's the folks at Apple :p
They should know how resistant to bending the phones are. They knew people were going to be using the phones in their front pockets, which is where the people reporting the issues are keeping their phones. No other phone bends as easily as the iPhone appears to be bending.

You miss my point. I'm saying PERSONAL responsibility. You have a thin, metal phone. What do you think is going to happen? You think the Z3 is going to withstand this test? It is about knowing the device you have. If you want a metal, thin phone you need to understand the limitations. I'll take a MacBook vs a plastic pos windows laptop everyday but that doesn't mean I think it is more durable to drops. It depends on the device.

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Should we expect a video and have apple people say the phone sucks when the Z3 or the nexus 5/6 shatters? No. That is retarded and it seems the rest of the world is being retarded just to somehow make themselves feel better that android is better than apple. Each device has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Great, now every I.d.i.o.t. in America is going to try to bend their iPhone 6 then post it on eBay...

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Damn that sucks for iPhone users who experience this.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of metal. Can bend and warp. Though it maybe seems like Apple are using a softer metal aluminium composition than say the HTC One M8. Maybe that would factor into it.

There are plenty of types of metals and alloys. You could make the phone out of a metal that's so strong it won't ever bend under human force, however that would cost a lot. My guess is Apple went for a thin and light alloy mix which probably meant it wasn't super strong.

Thinness probably also has a lot to do with it. They really should have made it a not thicker. They could have 1) had a camera that didn't protrude from the back, 2) had better battery life, and 3) had a more tough device.

I don't know how making the metal thicker would improve battery life. I think if they just used more metal to make it thicker, then yes it would have made the body of the device stronger and less prone to bending along with allowing the camera unit to be flush with the body.

Plus, it still would have been a thin phone. It's what 7.1mm? That's already so thin, making it 8mm isn't a big deal.

IPhone 6 is a fail.

The bend test: iPhone 6+ vs Note 3 - one of them fails

I've never heard of the "bend test" before but people are complaining that their iPhone 6 Plus is getting bent while in their front pocket. It's made out of aluminum whereas the Note 3 is plastic.

So many iPhone users say that the build of the Samsung devices is cheap (being plastic) compared to metal iPhone. I guess it backfires on them now.

It will be interesting to see how the Note 4 fairs since it will have metal sides but a plastic body. Hope it passes.

I meant make the phone thicker. Not the metal, but they can certainly do both.

Re: Note3 easily survives the bend test that the iPhone failed

Amusing how the 'bend test' is all of a sudden a test that has to be done and performed once the bending issue of the iPhone's were posted.

No one heard of or bothered with this bend test for any other device prior, but now that it seems like it's an issue with the new iPhone, hey let's all jump on the bandwagon and make fun of how it fails this completely useless and less than 48 hour hold test!!11!!!

Please...

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

I don't see what this has to do with the outer skin; it could never be an exoskeleton. Surely the phone should have a frame inside. The note 3 is clearly stronger but I guess this is due more to what is on the inside. I think that while Samsung gets a lot of disrespect for the its 'design ', the engineering is very good.

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

lol, you keep saying "same thing" as if there are actually the same thing..... *sign* You saw S4, Xperia Z1 or EVO LTE bend in the front pocket?

Sad, but true. This happens every year, though. People go looking for flaws in the iPhone and attempt to make a big deal out of it. Every year it's something "gate". You can bet that Samsung will be making an ad about it when they should be worried about the state of their company.

Re: iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test

Reminds me of the crazy juicer company that put every new iPhone into their juicer.. that was brutal....!

Please the bend test is nothing new. Every time someone or anyone point out the facts or truth about an Apple product all of a sudden it's bashing. Apple has issues just like every OEM so why should they get a pass on criticism?.
