They are TRULY "SMART" DEVICES....
I forgot also you can write down a date and time of an appointment and add it to your calendar by tapping on it. I believe you can also add tasks to your calendar for a day the same way.
Not many Note 3 users on the forums used those features of the spen. I had posted an article once about those things and no one was interested in using those. There were I me a couple besides myself that seemed to use them. Most said it was too much trouble and took too much time.
But.. If you are talking to someone that you are going to meet later and they give you an address to write down, might as welll lose a step or two and save some time. You are already talking on the phone so instead of picking up paper and a pen (in many cases first find the paper and pen) just use your spen and phone that has right there near you.
I was literally shocked how many said they weren't interested in learning about those features for reasons such as:
1. They never, ever actually talked on their phone at all. They never had any conversation with anyone, individual or business, that wasn't a text so the information was in the text so they never had to write down info, ever. (This was odd to me, numerous people I communicate with are through voice calls. Very seldom do I find businesses that have texting in their brick and mortar business.)
2. It was quicker and less trouble to write down an address/email addy/phone number on a piece of paper, open the app, type the address/email addy/phone number into the app instead of tapping on the info on the virtual piece of paper.
3. They never had to ever write down any info such as an address, email addy, phone number, ticket number, appointment date and time, name of a new contact, etc, because they could remember all the info told to them and enter it all in appropriate app when they hung up from the call.
There were several other reasons that ended with it was much faster and less steps, to write the info down on a piece while on the call and then manually type that info into the appropriate app(s) after the call was over.
None of those ever made sense to me. I'm a "work smarter, not harder" person. I just couldn't see how writing info down on paper and manually typing that info in the app was quicker and less trouble than writing the info down on a virtual piece of paper and then tapping on that info to have it open the correct app and the info was entered in the app for you.
Also the notes can be synced to your Samsung account and anytime you get a new phone, the notes are there. Has to be a Samsung, though I think you *might* can export some or all of those notes and store them on other cloud storage and have them available to you. The problem with that though is you can only read them, the actions abilities are gone on a non-Note phone since it is an spen feature. With other Samsung phones the notes can easily be available for syncing the notes for viewing only.
Something that simple is a big increase in productivity when you are one that uses your phone for work or work and personal use. If your phone is used for your business and you use it even just as much as most people use a landline at a business, it saves a lot of time. I remember you asking about "productivity" last year and you not getting a satisfactory answer. Those are functions the iPhone and other Androids also, just can't do. Yeah it will make me use more of my battery than what an iPhone will use, but for me sacrifice of some battery time for this is well worth it.
