Iphone VS Galaxy S3 I got Haters lol

Not that this thread needs any more comments bashing anything, but I'd like to add my own comment. My wife has a 4s and I have an s3, and they are both great phones. I do mess with her about using the phone, but I see many reasons it can be so appealing. First, the apps are fairly secure to download from Apple. Second, walk into any major box store's mobile section and you are instantly inundated by all of the iOS accessories, and nice ones at that! Third, the OS is comfortable to use and very consumer friendly. That being said, the S3 has it's own perks that separate it from the rest of the pack, but I don't have to go into detail with them all due to this being the S3 forum.
The point I'd like to make is that I am not going to rage quit my marriage because my wife likes a different mobile experience than I do. She likes iOS, I like android, you don't care what we like anyway. Compare till you are blue in the face, but please respect other people's right to appreciate and use what they want, as you would like the same from them even if they don't have the civility to respect you back.
Lastly, let's argue about something that should be important to the entire world like when are the Browns going to catch a break?!

The iPhone is a good phone and yes my sis and girlfriend both have iPhone's actually everyone in my girlfriend family has iPhone. The thing that I don't like about it is that it's so hyped up to being the best thing out there and they pin point all these great features but all those things have been already release it's just that apple has great marketing skills to show them off in a perfect way. I do hope iPhone 5 improves to something a lot better then the S3 because if they just highlight things we already have and everyone goes wild about it then that is going to tick me off . I'm just glad there are companies out there that truly bash the truth like t mobile finally showing people the speed comparison with their internet service (4g) to iPhone AT&T 3g..
There are so many people out there that think their iPhone 4g is a 4G speed phone :banghead:I swear it is the funniest thing. :D

Tonight I went out for dinner and a server stop me before I went to the rest one and asked me "hey is that the galaxy s3" I smiled and said yes he asked how the phone was and I just said one word "perfect" he responded "that's what everyone have been saying" I finished it off with "way better then her phone" as I point at my girls iPhone lol

i have both an iphone4, and the GS3. just switched, and although i do love the GS3..

one thing that people are discounting, is the overall quality of the experience. for me, android is still not as smooth and polished as iOS. i love the variety of features, and the options, but overall, iOS just had a leg up when it comes to having a user-friendly experience.

this does not mean that android is worse, or that the iphone is better, it just means that there is still more for android to strive for. android is still more powerful, but i don't have to have to dig through 6 screens of menus to get to a feature, or selection that i had to know was there before i got there. iOS has this one down pat. their settings (although admittedly extremely limited), are straight forward and simple to navigate. i miss that from my iphone.

i admit that having widgets, and tons of customization is great, and that android phones pwn iphones when it comes to specs. i love the huge screen on my GS3. i just still haven't gotten used to having to maneuver the phone everytime i want to do something with it. i can't just pick it up and use it if i need to do something.

also, one thing that no one tells people who switch, is how clunky the phone program is in comparison to the iphone version. these smartphones are indeed phones, and it's just a little bit lackluster to have one that is just not solid in that respect.

as a last thought, why is it that i now need android capable headphones when my iphone could use any headset out of the box? i have an expensive pair of over-ear headphones that are now useless unless i am in front of my comp :(

the GS3 is an insanely powerful phone, it's just not perfect, or as much better than the iphone as people make it out to be. i love it, but i just don't want to keep getting beaten over the head with people who think that it makes all iphones obsolete. that's simply not true, and since you're currently comparing it to last years iphone, it's a bit unfair.

i am going to keep my GS3, but i am also going to keep my new ipod (my old iphone). it's simply better at playing media anyways lol. sorry for the long post. hope that i contributed to the discussion :)

och its just a bit of fun like supporting different teams and i think everyone would admit that apple (although its just business) are doin their best to destroy android which is holding back progress so its good to vent frustration :)

I didn't know about the head phone thing. Is that only on the GS3? I was just on my head phones the other day and they were Sony ones and my wireless turtle beaches and they both worked.
I get the whole point of having ease of user experience but when you have that you also lose ability of choice. I sometimes use my girls iPhone and find my self stuck because something is not integrated or I just don't have that option. It fine for most people the phone tells you what you should do but if you need to by pass that then you can't.

The funniest thing I also compare my phone is my navigation. When ever I'm driving with a group of friends and we need to get to a location by navigation, they pull out their iPhone (most of them have one) and they try to give me navigation. I laugh at their dot on that map. and then pull out my phone (larger screen ) and I have turn by turn navigation, voice and traffic but they are still so stubborn they tell me which way to go and I ignore them. The sad part is that sometimes I drive and I don't want to pull my phone out so I let them navigate and they either get me lost, I'm stuck in traffic, or I just get frustrated and I pull over to take my phone out to get their correctly.

Lol I don't get how people love siri on their iPhone but literally never see a person use millions of people out their with iPhones I would expect to see one at least . When I had Google now I would use it all the time . Even in front of iPhone users to show them they can use it too.

Your picture doesn't tell the whole story. I would question why Android devices need so much hardware power and still cannot give its users the same smooth, fluid experience as an iOS device. Even Project Butter falls short.

Another mentioned iSheep. To me, Samsung fanatics are the true sheep. They continually buy broken hardware, then aggressively defend their purchase by attacking all who question them.

Enjoy your Samsung iPhone. I'm sure it will bring you years of frustration.

You have a point. I think what really matters most is user experience. Your device can be extremely powerful, but the user experience can be quite bad. I'm not saying that the SGS III has a bad user experience, but it happens. The processor n my iPhone is definitely lesser than that of the higher end Android devices from last year, but you would never be able to tell from using it.

Exactly. My wife's iphone 4 is very competitive with my dual core Bionic / Gingerbread phone, which is itself faster than most android devices being used right now. These phones were direct competitors in late 2011. Better hardware and OS integration with the iPhone.

Spec sheets just dont say much about actual experience and usability. Clearly, many dont care for big screen phones either. I prefer the 4-4.3 size, anything bigger is a nuisance.

I'm still left wondering why someone would put so much effort into making a spreadsheet about it.

exactly. I am an android fanboy but I do recognize that iPhones are also good phones. I love how fast is reacts to your touch.

My bro has an Iphone and I have an android phone. One day we were arguing about which phone was better. Naturally, we were going on and on about features that one phone had over the other. Finally, I went to, where every man went to when they first got their android, a porn site; I sent him a link to the same website. I was able to view the porn videos and he wasn't. I was like "I win."

Can't argue that. Although, now that we have Chrome......:)

I would like to know how does android 4.1 fall short?

You're asking this in a thread on a board dedicated to a device which doesn't run 4.1?

It's just a matter of time. I'm going to root my phone tomorrow and have jelly bean. I'll let you know how it is Jaj

Verizon Galaxy S3!!

It doesn't. Voice recognition is much better and Google Now rocks. "Project Butter" made the device smoother (so they say) but then I haven't had any trouble with my Android devices since I left Froyo behind.

That said, Jellybean just offers minor improvements to Ice Cream Sandwich. A bit of fine-tuning around the edges. The S3 is just fine as is on ICE. (I have a Galaxy nexus running Jellybean to compare.) Only thing I miss between the phones is Google Now. That is a very nice feature of JB.

In general, when people take swipes at Android or chastise Android fans for making comparisons I usually suspect they are protesting too much. The Samsung phones are looking very sweet to iPhone users these days. If there is envy it is clearly coming from the Apple user perspective (with a lot of hope the iPhone5 release is a major upgrade to let them brag again).
