Most people's argument is that since Samsung already had those features and Apple did it late so its inferior. Which is a flawed argument. Apple may be late, but it is well known for doing it the best way.

Nah. My argument is that since Samsung already had those features and Apple did it late, it is no longer cutting edge or innovative or whatever they said. I can't manufacture a Vette and say mine is innovative because it's faster.

With the dedicated GPU to support Deep Learning, the Siri is going to be better.
The locking/unlocking feature is going to be better.
The A11 chip is going to be better than Snapdragon.
Can't comment about the camera though, but I think it will be better too.
If you consider, performance, fluidity, simplicity, so far iphone8 looks better.

All these things are your opinion. Enjoy it, you'll certainly pay enough for it.

I don't care if ultimately they're better or not. It's still locked down iOS, and features I've been enjoying for over a year already. 😊

You came to an Android forum to stir sh!t up about an outdated iPhone and you're calling other people biased. Every comment you have made shows your true colors. iPhone fanboy.

If you go see my previous threads, before the launch of apple phone, you will find that I have pre-ordered Note 8 my friend.

Exactly, and that's what this thread is for. To share, what you like about iphone 8 more than Note 8 or vice versa. i just shared my opinion on this topic. Let's just agree to disagree.

I always thought iPhone's we're a thing of beauty, the way they looked, the way they were built and the way they were designed. However, that horrible notch cut out at the top of the display of the iPhone X seems very unapple like. It also impeded on watching videos/photos etc. I watched the keynote live and even the presenters just gave off a vibe that even they couldn't get excited about it.

If samsung keeps going the way it is they don't have a great deal to worry about.

The iPhone X looks nice. The emoji look cool. It's insanely expensive, but at least they are finally getting somewhat on par with some Android phones (Wireless charging, minimal bezels, waterproofing, OLED screens, etc). I'm sure it will be an excellent overall phone for Apple fans. It looks pretty striking to me.

OTOH, I cannot believe they removed the fingerprint sensor in favor of "FACE ID". I don't care what B.S. Apple spilled about which is more accurate either ( I mean, what are they gonna say, "THE FPS was better, but we took it out and replaced it with this inferior thing?") Of course they will say it's better. I seriously doubt it will be though. We'll see how it performs is all situations with real people using it (i.e. in a bar at night, in very low light with a bunch of people, etc). I suspect people will soon be cursing it, but who knows .. ($1100+ and they couldn't stick the FPS on the back too?).

Still it seems super premium, and nice for sure, but nothing at all revolutionary compared to what we already have on Android.

Agreed! But does that make iphone8 inferior to note 8 if they both have same features, rather more optimized and faster on iphone8?

Honestly I like the iWatch Series 3 with cellular. I like the idea that it's using your one cell phone number on your iPhone and can go out without the phone and still take calls. That would be convenient for me as a runner and be able to just take the watch with me instead of lugging a phone and not needing a separate cell number. Hope they can do that with Android phones.
The frontier watch does that on android. Yes it has its own number but when connected to the phone and you leave the phone behind, calls and .messages are forwarded to the watch.

These new iPhones all have much smaller screens than the note. The 8s still have tons of wasted space on the front so the note 8 is probably similar in footprint despite a much larger screen. More screen in less space should be a priority especially with high end phone. The galaxy phones are doing that much better. It makes operating the phone easier and it makes carrying it in a pocket or wherever easier.

Even the X looks like it still wastes a lot of space. Supposedly it doesn't have bezels but they are clearly there on the sides. Samsung is pulling off a narrower phone better than Apple.

I like Apple using the space at the side of the sensors on top, but their implementation is ugly. They should have gone for a black background there.

I don't really see the X as a competitor to the Note. It maybe is for people who are just trying to chase the best camera or benchmarks. Many people other note users though want that huge screen and functionality features like the S pen that the X isn't offering.

I don't, and have never, understood the hype about Benchmarks. I'll take anecdotal usage versus Benchmarks every day.

Inferior is relative, and will differ depending on who you're talking to. The discussion would be more constructive if we leave that word out.

All of these phones offer something of value to many people. They all offer something else as well... Compromise.

Fingerprint has an accuracy of 1:50,000 but the apple facial recognition is 1:1,000,000.
Which one do you think is better? Why to keep a feature on phone when you already have a superior feature to replace it, considering you already have the traditional lock system intact.
How does the facial recognition compare to the iris scanner and facial recognition on the newer Samsung phones? Even if the facial recognition is superior to fingerprinting and as reliable (which is suspect since there was problems when it was demoed) it has to beat out the other options as well to make that a meaningful decision point.

Benchmarks doesn't take into account relative ancedotal usage. Even if an device does better benchmark wise, it may be behind in normal usage compare to another device.

No, but it doesn't make it innovative and the best thing since sliced bread either. I mean you're fighting so hard for the iPhone. Just get one, enjoy it, and stop trying to sway people to agree with your opinion. We're Note lovers and since u preordered one, I'd assumed you were too. You love the Apple iPhone X. And that's okay. We love u anyway. Now stop pushing that X thing on us. 🤗

Agreed. If the speed with which the task is finished is faster than human perception, it doesn't matter what difference there is beyond that.

I am just sharing my thoughts and opinions and would like to know others opinion as well. I feel many people would like to know which one to choose in between Note8 and iphone8 and we all can shed some light on this topic. I am not "pushing" anyone. If someone is not interested, they are not bound to comment. I knew the time of starting this thread, that I am going to take lot of heat for this lol
