Agreed. If the speed with which the task is finished is faster than human perception, it doesn't matter what difference there is beyond that.

Which is why benchmarks do not tell the whole story. Numbers do not always compute to human perception. So for some, they hunt the numbers not realizing that they won't even *experience* the change.

That's a good point. It's a lot easier to point a phone at my face than to grab my hand and press my finger to the sensor (without getting socked), especially if I'm asleep. Touch my hand and I'm awake in 0.002 seconds. Just ask my wife!

Not really... the iPhone 7 already beats it out in most benchmarks lol. So even if you cut their claims in half, it's still going to beat out everything. I've come to accept that with Apple, it may be a bit snappier but the experience is still too simple and boring.

I totally agree My 7 is very fast, but the mundane Ios ecosystem has bored me to sleep. But Iphone is still user friendly and simple...Im sticking with my note 8!

Well the only things you usually change your phone is their looks, by downloading some themes. Thats it. And believe me the theme of apple is so much better than any of those themes. So really it doesn't make that difference. I prefer high performance, camera, and simpler and exciting features (such as face recognition) on a phone than what theme I have put on my phone. How many times do you stare at those themes? You usually spend most of the time on your phone within an app.

I have an iphone & work phone. I was gonna upgrade but honestly the note 8 is far too robust to comare to Ios. Apple has fallen behind the curve. They are tardy to the party. I have been an apple fan boy for awhile...but the operating system is boring...boring...boring

Note 8 kills the iphone. Made me laugh to watch that as they copied so much that samsung has had for a long time.

Thank you... that's what I was just doing as I just read the iPhone X piece. They make it sound like all their new features are TOTALLY new features to the INDUSTRY when most of them, Samsung has had for a year, two years, three years... ??? It's called Marketing to the iChildren!

Most people's argument is that since Samsung already had those features and Apple did it late so its inferior. Which is a flawed argument. Apple may be late, but it is well known for doing it the best way.
With the dedicated GPU to support Deep Learning, the Siri is going to be better.
The locking/unlocking feature is going to be better.
The A11 chip is going to be better than Snapdragon.
Can't comment about the camera though, but I think it will be better too.
If you consider, performance, fluidity, simplicity, so far iphone8 looks better.

I don’t believe the wireless providers can put one phone number on two IMEI devices. Their systems don’t allow it. Most likely Apple didn’t say the truth and it still requires two numbers but it works like Samsungs and if you call the main number as in number sync, it will ring both the watch and phone. Kind of like Google Voice does in a way.

Yeah I wasn't blown away. I thought at least the iPhone X would get me going. Face ID is awesome. Everything else was kinda been there, done that.

I like they're "edge to edge" screen. I mean the least they could do is what samsung did and not make look as nasty as they did. looks like the screen has two horns.

But you missed the whole point. The point is not to find like-minded people. The motive of this thread is to come up with rational arguments to state which phone is better and why to help others including myself. Also, one may criticize both the phones if they want to. I haven't found a single user criticizing the note 8 so far on this thread. I am pretty sure there must be something which lacks in Note8 than iphone8.

Was that what you were looking for? All of your responses were about how glorious the iPhone X is. And to you it may be. I'm sure it'll sell millions, and rightfully so. It's a nice phone. But you come here, on an Android website, in a samsung forum, in a Note 8 subforum, to preach the Gospel of Jobs amongst a million non believers. We aren't your target audience.
