Agreed. If the speed with which the task is finished is faster than human perception, it doesn't matter what difference there is beyond that.
Which is why benchmarks do not tell the whole story. Numbers do not always compute to human perception. So for some, they hunt the numbers not realizing that they won't even *experience* the change.
