I like the watch and the Animoji. My little niece and nephew would love it. That in no way makes it superior to the N8 imo. I would not wait in line for hours or wait months to own it. Through alot of the show I found myself saying, "they didn't already have that?"

And does iPhone really not have a notification light? Seriously? Anyway, what it does, I guess it does well. But so does my Note. So no, I'm not inclined to switch.

Absolutely. I am mainly referring to an improvement in the Apple line. They are still behind. Samsung has done it better.

They haven't really shown that the facial ID is any better than the one on the note 8 and even so iris scanning is more secure and more accurate than facial recognition.

Apple's face ID cannot distinguish between identical twins Apple admitted this during the keynote today. Yet iris scanning can.

As well as fingerprints. That's why facial recognition is not as good.

I like they're "edge to edge" screen. I mean the least they could do is what samsung did and not make look as nasty as they did. looks like the screen has two horns.

It's not even edge to edge because there is a thin bezel that does all the way round and then that ridiculous notch. But it is a big improvement on the 7/7 plus.

The animoji look really cool but I can imagine they will only work in iMessage. So the the other person would need to have an iPhone.

Although live messages are not quite as cool they will work with most messaging apps.

Most people's argument is that since Samsung already had those features and Apple did it late so its inferior. Which is a flawed argument. Apple may be late, but it is well known for doing it the best way.
With the dedicated GPU to support Deep Learning, the Siri is going to be better.
The locking/unlocking feature is going to be better.
The A11 chip is going to be better than Snapdragon.
Can't comment about the camera though, but I think it will be better too.
If you consider, performance, fluidity, simplicity, so far iphone8 looks better.
