iPod mode on car stereo for Pixel

A million ways? Bluetooth audio is 100% universal.
Actually, there were 5 major BT protocols over the years, and uncounted minor variations. Every manufacturer is free to take the standard and implement only what parts they want and tweak others. The production and dragging lead times mean they're 2 or 3 years out of date the day they get released, and since cars and the like don't get firmware updates except in the rarest cases, they'll never catch up or get patched.

Yes correct very inconvenient. I'm aware the new generation of car stereo have both protocols that automatically recognise if is an Android or idevice.

Bluetooth is irrelevant to this conversation about using a car's USB port to connect an Android phone for audio playback.

Whatever. Every car and phone I've owned over the past 6 years have worked identically.

This is going over your head.

Or you're hating iOS for the sake of hating on iOS.

With the iPod USB connection, drivers have their music integrated with the car stereo. No need to do anything on the phone.

Car radios get constant firmware updates to fix issues. Especially Toyota. I am a tech for Toyota, and EVERY car has at least one firmware update for the radio.
