Is a nextbook ares 11 charging light suppose to be amber?

I have a nextbook ares 11 running 5.0 and I went to plug the charger in (wall charger) and the red light came on and it stayed red for a good hour and half,then out of the corner of my eye I see that it is green and I was thinking cool it's charged. Then I got talking to my wife and I notice that it is blinking between green and red and I'm thinking I've really never ever watched this thing charge before so I thought maybe that was normal. Well that lasted about a minute and now it is staying solid amber or orange. So now I'm curious as to what happened and what to do or is this normal? The screen did turn on when I used the volume and power buttons but haven't tried anything else.

Welcome to Android Central! The main question is if the battery is charging normally, and if the battery life is normal. If the battery is taking unusually long to charge fully, if it's heating up a lot while charging, or if it drains quickly, then it's probably failing.
