Is anyone on Project Fi yet?

I just now found out about this from this thread. Can someone tell me how to be alerted to any future Google invitation/Beta offerings? How did everyone hear about it the day they announced it?

I very recently just got my first smartphone, and ended up paying a lot for it. All because I live in a cave or something. I may have buyer's remorse now, and might look into returning it, if it's a possibility. I just signed up for Project Fi though, so it might be a long while before I hear anything. Shucks. Thanks to the OP for creating this thread though.

The Project Fi page says, "The Nexus 6 is the first smartphone that supports Project Fi's network of networks. During Project Fi's Early Access Program we plan to only support the Nexus 6." touting it has a "special" cellular radio that works with all networks. Is this something more extreme than "Quadband GSM" phones?

I've only had my Note Edge for 7 days, so I'm well within my return window. I think they'll charge a $50 re-stocking fee though, but this Nexus 6 is $150 off until June 23rd, so that gives me time to still take advantage of the lower pricing. I'm freaking out. Quite the quandary. I REALLY like my Note Edge, but it's also still the honeymoon phase, and my first smartphone, ever. Any advice from the early adopters or other knowledgeable folks here?

A lot of miss information I read.... So can u have 2nd Google Voice account and forward that number to ring on Project Fi?

Seems that's a lot of invites going out and yet no clear answer to this yet
I got my invite this week and have been trying to find an answer to this question in particular before taking the plunge. I have a 2nd GV line for work purposes (if/when I change jobs, I'll cancel that account and start another one - I don't want to give work my "real" phone number) and being able to receive and make GV calls on the Fi phone is a must.

Can't have 2 lines with Fi

Just to be totally clear, I'm not talking about having two lines on Fi per se. Can a *different* Google Voice number be forwarded to a Fi phone for incoming calls? And can the Google Voice app be used on the Fi phone to make outgoing calls with the other GV number?

As I've not seen anything in Google's FAQs or forums I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried either or both of these things.

#Jay Gloab, at this time, each line with Fi has to be independent. Each line has to have its own invite to signup. Each line has to have its own Nexus 6 device.

# Jay Gloab,

The only way I could see this working is if you were signed into 2 Google Accounts on your Nexus 6.

I am assuming you would use your personal Google Voice # exclusively with FI and your Work Google Voice # would be attached to a different Google Account that would also be signed into your Nexus 6.

You could theoretically use your work Google Voice # as a regular GV #, since it is not part of Google FI. Then you could set it up to have all those calls forwarded to your Google FI #.

Personally, I requested a FI invite and then decided I really didn't want to alter the functionality of my primary GV account. There are things that regular GV can do, such as forward to landlines, that FI can't.

Plus, I want my primary GV # to remain completely independent of whatever carrier I am using.

A week after requesting the first invite, I requested a second invite on a rarely used Gmail account that doesn't have Google Voice setup.

My plan is to use the secondary Google Account with FI and keep using Google Voice with my primary account as I normally would. I'll be signed into both GMail accounts.

I may try FI for a month or two, but if I cancel it, I can just sign out of my secondary GMail account and nothing on my personal GV account will change.

During the time I have FI, I'll use use it and have all calls forwarded to my primary Google Voice account.

No you can't forward to Project Fi from GV, even if its a different account. Project Fi is GV and forwarding doesn't work. This is what I was explained, not from my personal experience

I just got a Project Fi invite yesterday (requested day 1), but I'm contracted with Verizon until August 29. Will my invite still be good at that time?

Finally pulled the trigger. Excited to see if fi coverage fills in my gaps with tmo. Checked the maps and it looks promising.

Does VoLTE work on Fi? Can anyone check? Google and T-Mobile said Fi doesn't support it, some xda member said it does.....who's bull****ing?

I got my Invite back on June 2nd. Finally decided to take the plunge last week, and got my Nexus 6 and Fi services on June 11th. It's been good so far. I have even ventured into an area that shows no coverage at all on their map, and had 3g coverage. I have also seen R which I assume is roaming. This was in an area that I know only has VZW coverage. It seems like they may have agreements with more than Sprint and T-Mobile.

Can anyone with Project Fi and two Google accounts confirm this?

Might it be an option to have your secondary account already setup to forward to the telephone number that you're going to port into Fi? In theory, the secondary account shouldn't recheck itself once the added number is verified.

I dont think there is much to confirm, if you try to forward from GV to GV right now, it wont work. Project Fi is Google Voice essentially (thats why they tell you if you dont use your GV number for Fi, you loose it)

Can someone test this? I heard Sprint data plan is very slow. There are lots of info in the internet. How's Fi when connected to sprint network? Is it slow. I know if t-mobile available the phone may pick that. So only way to test it's some place where there's no t-mobile tower.

I suspect you're right, for just that reason, but I'd like to be sure, as losing the ability to use both lines on one phone would be a deal-breaker for me.
