The Pixel XL is slightly smaller, but it's not the most comfortable phone to hold. I think the U Ultra is quite ok without the case. While I like the one bundled with it, it does make it less comfortable to hold. I just wish peel would make a case for the U Ultra.

Yeah that's why I was feeling it little bigger because the case I have on iPhone 7 plus is comfortable and grippy. The one which comes with the ultra definitely makes it harder to grip. Need to look out for better grippier slim case.
Pixel XL is tough to hold without the case, but I have the Google's $35 case and it definitely makes the phone grippy and very comfortable to use.
