Is anyone still keeping their V20?

I "upgraded" to a Note 8 several months ago with the idea of the V20 becoming the back up phone. Well it didn't exactly work out that way. The 20 is still the daily driver. Damn V20 why can't I quit you?!

Interesting.......what keeps you on the V20? I'm thinking about the Note 9 as an upgrade.

Wow! I'd expect a person to go with the Note 8. Are there particular reasons why? For me, personally, the V20 to me feels more comfortable to use and hold for daily use.. plus the extra features it has. The Note 8 was too long for me and didn't feel comfortable when holding it.. the shape was too weird. Plus that hefty pricetag of 1k.. not sure if it's necessary or worth it.

I am shopping for mine. Right now I have two samsung phones that will both go away as gifts.

I see great deals on Ebay all the time. You can get a mint condition one for $200 it seems. That is probably where I will get it.

I have also heard great reviews about swappa.

Either way, always immediately check the IMEI or ESN when it arrives. Sometimes there could be an outstanding EIP balance. But both Swappa and eBay are very good, I think eBay gives you more buyer protection however.

The audio?

I went from LG V10 to Samsung Note 4 to Samsung S8+ and plan to get V20 and get rid of the rest.

V20 is superior to S8+ for several reasons.

Battery, 16:9 ratio that I like.. cost..

S8+ is just so completely not worth it.

The LG v20 is a good phone nice battery and lovely camera but be weary of the burn in if you decide to get the phone used I have dealt with swappa before and they are good as long as you are understand they will be understanding to you but just look out for the ghost retention or burn in screen fix is a good app on Google play and some YouTube videos to help if you can. Hope this helps

I'm still rocking with my v20.

I've been looking at what's available, and there's still nothing that interests me.

Seems like they all have major issues of one sort or another. Banding issues with the screens , audio issues, crappy speakers that muffles the sound, not to mention lousy battery life... Good Grief... All of these companies including LG in their race to make the thinnest sealed up notch infested iPhone clone type phone still can't make a phone better than the v20... It's really sad...

I absolutely agree. The V20 was the absolutely LAST true Android phone.. the last innovative one with the most PRACTICAL design. It has the most ideal features and is actually durable while still being incredibly thin. Too bad LG succumbed to the notch and glass body trend.. oh well, guess they had to do it to survive. I'm happy with the V20 and this phone is still amazing to me.. don't care about an HD front facing camera.. people don't like that anyways it will show all your wrinkles and blemishes.. and the cameras nowadays has too much fake post processing, it looks like you have makeup on your face.

I still have my V20. I have had 2 previous V20's due to problems and have had to have them replaced. The first V20's external speaker/amp went, replaced, then the second V20's microphones went out. Replaced and the 3rd has been the charm. I have flirted with an unlocked V30 from B&H Photo, but the price has never really got down to where I would pull the trigger on it. The V30 doesn't offer that much more to pay more than 500 bucks for it. The V30s isn't 3G supported for Verizon and it's questionable whether it is even available to activate on Verizon. If my V20 keeps running well, I think I'll be keeping it for awhile. Traveling, the removable batteries are invaluable and since I bought 4 new one's to replace my old batteries, the battery life is great.

I was going to come ask if the V20 is still a good buy (would purchase used or if likely nib) today? I have my V10 at the repair ctr due to bootloop :( How does this phone compare to the V10? Many thanks :)

it's a good phone and I plan on having it as a backup for a long time to come. buy a few extra batteries and you're good for times when you will be away from a charger for long periods.

i have a ton of music offlined(highest quality) and use it with my nice headphones when i want to get blissed out. 😎

I really cannot think of a good reason to get rid of the V20. There isn't anything that it doesn't do pretty well.

I had a v10 for a few weeks. I think the v20 is sturdier, faster, better battery performance. it isn't fast on this forum but it is everywhere else. I love it and unless a new phone can become an orgasmatron ("Sleeper"), why would I need to spend $1,500 for a very marginal power and features increase. Plus I like the idea of having extra batteries. How would a Note 8 or a V30 or an iPhone X make my life better?

I'm not gonna lie, my V10 was a lot more sexier looking though.

Sexier looking?

Naaaaaaaaw... My v10 wasn't sexy.. It was a tank.. How did that movie saying go... " A lean mean fighting machine" LOL... Lol...

Don't get me wrong, I loved how it looked, and if I could have my v20 internals in it vs the v20's shell I would do it in a heartbeat, but sexy isn't a moniker I would give it.

I would/will let mine go if this lag problem continues to exist. I've already missed out an important child moment because the camera app froze and I had to wait for the phone to reboot but I've had many cases now of the phone becoming unresponsive during seemingly routine tasks. I don't push the phone a lot so I expect it to just do what I need it to do when I need it. I would like to see if Oreo could alleviate some of those issues but I'm not promising myself I'll keep it until then. The OP6 looks great and the Galaxy S9/Plus especially since it's truly the one phone that doesn't have a notch and still has a headphone jack, microSD expansion, stereo speakers and manual mode in the camera app. No other phone regardless of OS can boast those features right now.

Actually it is still a good buy today vs all the other phones out but you have to know what you are getting as opposed to everything else

Granted it's not the latest or greatest notch infested piece of recycled glass out, nor does it have the fastest processor or chipset, it ain't water proof or drop resistant, nor to those who have to have cutting edge technology, make them drool over the specs...

Still interested? Good... Because what the v20 offers no other oem including LG itself has... A rock solid dependable phone that takes exceptional pictures, has better audio, cell signal, real fm radio, a excellent ir blaster and last but certainly never least a removable battery... There are many other attributes the v20 has but the aforementioned ones pretty much sums up the main reasons this phone in today's market is still a major player ... No one... Not even LG will offer you as much.

I hear people say that they can't live without wireless charging or waterproofing.. I feel sorry for them.. I have no need for either and never have because I don't need to use my phone in water and I can swap out my battery and be at full charge in less than a minute...

To me having the features the v20 has outweighs spending so much more and not getting as much..

Sure it's outdated technology.. But what you buy today with the latest and greatest New phones will be tomorrow.

Put everything this phone has vs any phone out today and decide.... But this one thing should be compared first... Battery life.... No other phone will give you never having to consider this again... You can get as many spare batteries as your usage requires...
