Is anyone switching to the new Moto X?

I am seriously considering this as I loved last years model but the camera was the worst (compared to other flagships). Reason mainly is it was the most practical device (moto assist) I have ever used. This one only improves that.

I have not pulled the trigger yet but have come close on the moto maker site. Holding me back is the first reviews have generally been down on the Camera and battery life my not have improved at all. Again..most are saying the pics are better than last yr, but not as good as the gs5....g3 and others.

I do like the g3 a lot but an unlocked and practically pure andr experience is so tempting.

It does look interesting, I've never owned a Motorola device but owners seem to speak very favourably of them. Isn't that company supposed to be producing also one of the Nexus 5 successors? The 5.9" Nexus 6?

You are allowed to have more than one phone, ffejjj. You're allowed to have three, for example, as I do....or four, if I include the one being used by a friend, or five, including the one I shall no doubt be buying soon, whatever it may be.

Came from the old Moto X to the G3. They still haven't fixed the two problems: battery life and camera. Read AnandTechs review, particularly on the battery. Pretty disappointing..

Currently on my account I have the HTC One, LGG2, LGG3 (my daily driver) and my Evo 4g is used as a WiFi device

I'm thinking of either getting the Nexus 6 or the iPhone 6 (not to replace my G3) to try out. I'm leaning toward the 6 lol

I would rather have the G3. They seem to have comparable battery life, but the G3 has the edge in screen resolution & camera.

Not a chance. The only device I will upgrade on will prob be the g4. :-)

Agreed. I also came from an old Moto X, and really enjoyed it's software features. I switched to the G3 because of display, price, battery life and camera. I've been pleasantly surprised with the software features on the G3. Popup windows for SMS and a few other apps come in very handy.

I was disappointed with the new features on the new Moto X. Not enough of a step up from the previous one.

Also, I don't think I could ditch the knock on feature and the awesome battery life of the G3. First time I've ever had a phone I could get two days on one battery charge.

Yea. If they could have somehow fit a 3000mah battery in the Moto X I would be interested. As it sits right now I'm not. I'll definitely be reading what people are saying about it and some more reviews when it officially comes out and more people have the phone..

I sincerely beg your pardon. You're obviously my equal in i.d.i.o.c.y.
Yes, I must admit I've been attracted to the iPhones of late as well. I know next to nothing about the differences between iOS and Android, as a relative newcomer to it all. Fewer problems but less flexibility I'd guess.
If you're any kind of a camera nut and care to use WP I can strongly recommend adding the Lumia 1020 to your collection....it's ageing a bit, but incomparable camera.

Curiosity is getting the best of me here. For those of you that have multiple phones, do you have separate accounts for each phone? Or do you swap the active phones in and out on one account depending on your whim for that day? Or do you swap out sim cards? How do you do it all?
Do you have all these phones at once or do you trade them in one for another? If traded, do you pay full retail every time?

Always fascinated how people swap phones every other month or so or have five or six in hand on deck.

I should note that, I keep phones way too long.

If you just swap phones you can almost always do the swap at little or not cost by selling/trading your current phone. I traded my Moto X and $100 cash for a G3. I will probably be able to do a straight trade to a new Moto X or IPhone 6 from the G3 if I wanted to. Or might even be able to to a straight trade for a Note 4 (maybe with $100 cash). There's a lot of people on Craigslist that don't really know the value of their device..

I upgraded in August. I sorta was kicking myself when I saw the new Moto X launch but all in all. I'm happy with what I got.

The lack of features and overall downgrade in hardware is no incentive to move from the powerful G3.

In my case, I started with a WP, shortly after decided to add an Android, then wanted a better WP, then wanted the very G3 I'm texting this with. Nothing terribly expensive, including the latter. All bought unlocked SIM-free, and all loaded with PAYG SIMs on the Three Network (UK). With those, the basic PAYG minimum is £10, credit doesn't expire, and you pay 3p/min, 2p/text, 1p/mb. Lasts a long time if you don't use much. In one of my phones at any one time I'll top up enough to buy a £15/month unlimited data, 300mins, 3000texts tariff. Because there's no contract you can change tariffs round as much as you like.
If and when phone No.5 comes, I may choose a SIM-only contract, £15/month, which includes unlimited data and allows 4GB tethering. So you see, running the phones is not expensive.
Wonderful network, Three.☺
