Is google pixel display problem real?

If you're going to compare 2 phone screens you need to do it properly . They need to have the same wall papers with pretty much the same amount of apps on the screen. Every little thing makes a difference for the light emission.

That's true Coop61

Note9/iPhone X/pix 3xl all have Samsung screens probably all them calibrated different but the pix 3xl I really don't see a difference in sun . maybe just maybe the pix is a notch down but it's bright to see in sunlight

Err..sorry..no not from tech nerds here. Display clearly is not well lit and bright as my iPhone XS Max or S9+. I am not sure how else I can put it but if you remove yourself being a fan of the Pixel or any other phone and compare them, you will clearly see what we mean here. Again, not saying this is a problem just that acknowledging Pixel 3XL display is not as bright as it can be.

And I'm just saying that no matter what tech these companies bring, people always want more or better. You don't have to be a tech nerd to see that.

As for being a Pixel fan, not really. So far it suits my needs best from what is available to me, but I take issues with things Google has done with the Pixels, and with their Home and Nest products as well. At one point this weekend I was ready to drop out of the ecosystem due to their support (not what it used to be). I ended up finding the solution myself, which is sad since it's their product and after 5 hours dealing with support techs from both Google and Nest, I was left with no solution from them other than them escalating the issue.

I never said there wasn't issues with the display, brighter could always be better, like how Samsung's phones handle sunlight (a short term extreme bump in brightness to compensate). But even then, people will demand more, that's just human nature. Some phones are shipping with 6GB of RAM, and there are people wanting 8GB. But that's also what drives companies to push the envelope and give is better products. It's not inherently a bad thing, but it is a reality. And to make it sound that tech nerds don't want more or higher specs, well they're usually the first ones to demand it, more so than the general public.

Nope, you're not. I run mine at 40% and only 100% in bright sunlight.

Yeah, at under or a little over half is really good! I'm glad I'm not in the minority here. Even if I'm watching Netflix, I'll have my brightness at 60% or at max, 80%.

Tech Nerd here:
There's a clear difference between bright as it can be and need be. I don't think I want a display as bright as it can be, just bright enough to do the job. If you feel that it needs to be brighter that's on you and whoever else feels that way. I've compared all the displays from every brand and don't see an issue with any of the ones you mention.

I agree with you a hundred percent. "Bright enough to get the job done" is more than fine by me!
