Has anyone successfully seen use of the Idol 3 with T-Mobile Band 12?

I don't see that it has VoLTE (am I wrong about this?), so it's probably going to be updated away, if it hasn't already; I don't know, I'm not in an area that sees band 12 yet.

EDIT: for reference, see: Here and Here.

I'm in Southern California and I've seen my Idol 3 pick up band 12 but only when I'm in the interior of my office building and no other bands work. It seems that the Idol 3 will only use band 12 if all else fails.

I just was in the bowels of a big building in Astoria Queens yesterday and no other TMobile users were getting reception. I was getting LTE with good speeds. I downloaded an app and indeed it showed I was on LTE band 12 so ditto your observation.

Can you guys make phone calls when you're on Band 12? Could I ask you to try next time you're on Band 12?

So I tried to make a call as requested. I was in the interior of my building and LTE Discovery app showed I was on band 12 LTE. I tried to make a call, dialing 611 to get to T-Mobile support. My Idol 3 then showed it switched to HSPA+ as did LTE Discovery. The call connected and I heard T-Mobile's recording. I tried this twice and the same happened both times.
I guess I'm happy I can still make calls even if the phone appears to switch off of LTE. I couldn't tell what band I was on during the call. Before band 12 I don't recall if I was able to make calls or not. I don't think I could. Hope that helps. Again, I'm in Southern California, in Orange County.

Does the Idol 3 support T-Mobile's VoLTE?

If Band 12 is active now without VoLTE support, I predict it'll be turned off via a software update soon unless Alcatel is going through T-Mobile's certification process.

Just updated to build 7SRN-UEN0 and band 12 is gone. WTF? This is why I bought this phone. Tmobile says that they gave nothing to do with it. And Alcatel says send back the phone must be a bad phone. What do I do? Back to Edge network at my house.

Because of T-Mobile's network configuration and 911.

My T-Mobile coverage at work went in the toilet after this update no bars or service whatsoever. Home I still get 3 bars of LTE.

I went to spot in my building where I was getting Band 12 and before that was turned on by T-mo, it was HSPA+.

Now all I get is Band 4. Ok....

Personally I never had Band 12 here in Chicago so I am unaffected in the grand scheme of things. I can't really blame anyone for the situation. Alcatel included Band 12 but it makes sense why T-Mobile is blocking it for unlocked phones w/o VoLTE technology

I am in NYC, walking around my neighborhood today, I get LTE, at work in Midtown, I get nothing in the building, but Midtown Manhattan I get LTE. TMo needs the device to be certified with VoLTE I am guessing in order to use Band 12.
Off topic, greetings to Chicago (I am from the North Side, left 10 yrs ago), My best friend who I basically have known since we were teens and his wife live in Bridgeport, I need to visit Chicago again soon.
