I see that many of you have preordered your Primes already! Congratulations! As much as I want to preorder mine right now as well, I am a little cautious.
Every single time a new device I have been waiting for came out, I bought it the day of its release. I let it be reviewed by members of forums for like 8 hours, then went out to the store. Every single gadget I purchased that quickly, gave me horrible luck
The Sidekick LX? All sidekicks discontinued after about a year and a half because of the service. (Yes, there is a new sidekick now, but there was a big gap.)
The Motorola Cliq? Motorola's (first?) android phone? Eventually fell through about a year later, and received many complaints because of the lack of updates, and reached EOL soon afterwards.
The Thunderbolt? I read forum reviews for about 3 hours, saw some complaints about battery life, figured it wouldn't be that bad, then went out to get it. Sure, a whole lot of things have improved, but there were still things that went wrong in the beginning.
What I am trying to say is, although the specs are breathtaking, are you sure it will perform [almost] flawlessly? I don't want to spend $500, then get it and find a bunch of problems. I just don't know whether or not to take that big of a risk.
ALSO! Since we don't have a final release date, how are you all coping? I mean, you just laid down a bunch of money, and you don't know [exactly] when it is coming!
