Is it me or Verizon losing data?

I spoke with tech support again today and they're still not admitting to their being a problem. They offered me a replacement phone, a Samsung Charge (LOL no way) or $50 off on a new phone if I sign a new 2 year contract. Gee thanks, I call you with problems and you offer me a new 2 year contract, how nice of them.

When asking about latest software, are you talking about stock Verizon or are you referring to flashing new stuff?

My Rezound is dropping data connection all the time when at around 70-75db. Mine is finally unlocked, s-off and rooted, but otherwise stock and my software is version 2.01.605.11.

I was referring to stock Verizon software. Not really interested in other ROM's. I rooted primarily to block OTA's as I want to stay on the 2.11.605.9 Thunderbolt software (released back in Dec.), use a blocking hosts file (MVPS), and make full backups (nandroid via CWM). :)

As to the data drop issue, I've been good for the last two days. We'll see if that holds as it's been very intermittent for me. :(

I am confused as to how there is newer stock software than I have. I was never given a chance to update...

If you're referring to the Rezound, looks like you have the latest stock software 2.01.605.11 according to Verizon's update page here (see Benefits of Software Update pdf) : Software Update: HTC Rezound? - Coming Soon!

Thunderbolt latest is 2.11.605.19 710RD via its support page: Software Update: Thunderbolt?by HTC - Coming Soon!

Assuming you have a Thunderbolt, you can always download a full RUU and flash the phone with it to get the latest version (linked below). Just be sure to back up your data to the SD card first before flashing as an RUU is like a clean install of the system overwriting the existing one. :)

This is a Tbolt forum and you have a Rezound maybe?

LOL, oops! For some reason I thought it was Rezound forum. Well now, that is quite embarrassing!!! LOL. Sorry about that folks!

Same problem here in Orange County, CA for the last few weeks. It was especially bad today, dropping in and out repeatedly. This frequent dropping and starting the data connection might also explain my inconsistent battery life. Sometimes I can go early AM through late evening and still have ~25% left - other days I am looking for the charger by noon time.

I'm having the same issue in L.A. and Orange Counties. I especially have it at work. If I even look at my phone wrong there goes the signal. I think it's a combo of the Bionic and the network. I'm crossing my fingers that it gets better by the time my Galaxy S3 is in my hands.

Thinking the same here. Started having similar issues around the time of the latest OTA update. Presumed at the time was application-related (and guess technically still could be) and went through long process of elimination to try and isolate which application, service misbehaving, only to have problem come back even after had thought had found what needed to be stopped or uninstalled. Started thinking a while ago that seemed much more related to the quality of the phone's signal connections. Oh, and am in the San Jose area (though first noticed the poor signal/battery connection when over in Santa Cruz, where I've had the problem occur fairly repeatedly - have had the problem over in San Jose area too though, just much more intermittent there).

I've been losing mostly 3g because I usually keep the lte radio off. Forcing me to use lte, which isn't bad but a faster battery drain. I'm in OC and Inland empire mostly.

Still in Charleston, SC for tonight. I just tried an acid test, updating 6 apps from the Play store all without a hitch. I am becoming more convinced it's a network issue.

Edit: Well, leaving Charleston early AM, I had the issue reappear. Traveling back, through Columbia, Augusta and now back in Atlanta, no issues at any of those locations. Also, my new Trident Electra case was waiting on me, and so far, I like it. I am a little concerned, since it changes out the antennas and back, introducing more variables, but so far, so good.

I was experiencing data drops the past few weeks as well. I disabled my JuiceDefender managing my data connection yesterday, and it seems to be working fine since then. Not an ideal solution due to the Bolt's notorious battery issues, but it might be worth trying for those of you who use JD.

The data intermittency in Chicago is awful today. Several T-Bolts with the same issue. It seems to be killing the battery very quickly. I have an extended battery that's bean going from full to 50% in 3 or 4 hours. Verizon didn't even acknowledge that it was a problem. Just thanked me for reporting it. I would much rather hear them say, "We are working on a digital cluster$%&^ - please be patient" than to act surprised to hear I was having problems with their network.

If your battery is draining like that, it might be the dialer bug too.

I have had this problem on several thunderbolt. It is an intermittent problem and was much worse when the phone first came out, but has gotten better after the updates. Basically, the problem is that wireless data is "stuck". It shows connected to 4g,but I could try forever and have no data. A restart would temporarily fix it or perhaps the restart connections app.

Another alternative would be to disable mobile data when you are not using it, but this is a pain. There are apps like juice defender that can be set up to do this though.

I know of others with this problem too. Ultimately, the problem was "fixed" when they sent me a rezound as a warranty replacement after going through multiple thunderbolt replacements.

Btw, this typically happens when you are in a lower signal area.

Of course, it could be another app acting up, but that wasn't the case for me.

I just got fed up waiting and waiting for this to fix itself. I have had 4g dropping nonstop almost all day long with full bars for the past month. Before that, everything was working great. I don't know what Verizon did, but it does not play nice with many Thunderbolts out there.

So I started messing around with the modem settings by using ##778# to see if anything would help with the problem. I figured it was a longshot, but it paid off. Since doing that, I have not had a single drop for two days now. The only two settings I changed were preferred settings and preferred settings(9k) both to automatic. Now 4g works like it used to.

However, this did cause my bars to no longer work correctly (phone always shows no bars now) and the time is always way off. I fixed the time by turning off automatic settings and manually entered my region. I have no idea why this fixed my 4g data problems, but i will take non functioning bars over no data at all.

Anyway, thought i would post this for anyone else plagued with 4g dropping over and over with their Thunderbolt.

Since lunchtime today in Atlanta, it's gone to heck (back with my HTC battery door, too). I was looking around the ##778# menu earlier. Anybody seen any documentation of what bpyazel's settings do? Or just documentation of the menus generally?

I am in northern Indiana and this is happening frequently to me across multiple ROMs and to my wife's Droid 4 as well.

anyone know if this effects the GPS? I will lose my service sometimes too and then it seems to lost my GPS (whenever I am using maps to navigate) all day today I had this problem along with 3g cutting off and 4g cutting out.
