Is it possible to Force Note 2 in Edge only and not connect to 4g. 4glte

On previous phones i have been able to turn off 3g and it would connect to only edge. Usually going into settings, more settings, and mobile network you have a choice to choose. Ive read in other forums that att has blocked this feature? You might ask why i want to do this, I used to hav ea microcell where i lived and i twas set up under my account, I dont want to use it anymore but it wont let me delete my number because its my account but others at the house want to use it. Id rather just use edge when calling and WIFI for internet. Thanks in advance.

I b3lieve the reason it is locked is that in the not to distant future att is going to turn off edge in order to repurpose the spectrum for some future new technology. I have read about this in sone online articles. I also had a microcell and recently tossed it. I dont really need it anymore. This phone gets reception in my home unlike past phones.
