Is it possible to permanently delete selected text messages?

I have some texts that i have deleted but want them permanently gone. What is the best/safest way to do this? I am not very teccy so can you please keep your answers simple for me lol

Just deleting them should "permanently" delete them - there's no "temporary delete". If they keep coming back, talk to your provider - they evidently keep resending them.

apparently there is software out there that can recover supposedly "deleted" texts and there is a way to permanently delete them but the only way i can find is by deleting ALL texts which isnt useful to me.
