Hello, Is it possible to prevent S7A from updating w/ Nougat 7.0 --without rooting? Want to keep stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 ---Thanks for any help.

I've seen others say if they refused the upgrade it went away, but normally not permanently I think.

Thank you, PJRed! It never did go away on my Samsung GS3; I had to 'Force Stop' it and dump cache everyday, which got a bit old. Bought the GS3 in 2012 and after 5 years.... it's still running ICS 4.0.1 ! I wonder if there's any other Galaxy phones still running the 2012 Ice Cream Sandwich ?! :>D
But the motherboard? or processor? or something? ---with constant shutdowns no matter the battery %--- finally started going out this May/June, hence the upgrade to the S7A, which I'm liking a lot, so would like to keep it at Marshmallow 6.0.1, indefinitely, until I choose to allow the 7 upgrade.

The upgrade that's been trying to download (since yesterday) is:
' AT&T Software Update - v2.2.37 '

That doesn't look like Nougat. What does the changelog say and how big is it? N will be over 1GB. You also might want to look over our Rooting forum to give options.

Thanks. Under Application Manage > Show System Apps? Sorry but not familiar with 'changelog' :(
There it just shows 332 KB under ' AT&T Software Update - v2.2.37 '

Thanks for checking that. How do you Aves arms read the changelog? Or do you need root to see changelog?

. . . Jeez :~\ this inaccurate Samsung swyping keyboard is killing me! . . .rolleyes . . :-D
What I meant abv, ~ How do you access and read ~
