Is it too late to buy a Nexus 5?

For $50 more you wouldn't buy a Nexus 5 instead? (299/349 vs 349/399)

They last sold for $199/$249, right?

That was a clearance price after they were discontinued, limited to the old stock on hand. I doubt they would have dropped the price like that if they were still making them.

I bought mines right before New Year and I'm still loving it...I last time i had buyers remorse was with the BB Q10, sent back and got S4 Mini, gave it to my mum for birthday present so I could justify my Nexus 5 purchase and I love it...my pals take the mick out of my phone cause it aint a Sammy or an iPhone but I love how buttery smooth it is and I'm yet to come across any lag like I did with the last two phones within the first month.... I plan to hold on to it for as long as I can.

I can wait for the galaxy s5, but I would prefer a stock android experience.

We don't know when Samsung will announce the Galaxy S5. If you want to use history as a guide, Samsung released the S4 in late April 2013. The Google Play edition S4 came out in late June 2013. So you may be looking at waiting until April or June for a new phone, assuming Samsung and Google follow the same pattern this year.

There is another option, however. You can buy a Nexus 5 now, and if something better comes along, you can sell your Nexus 5 or keep it as a backup smartphone.
