Is it worth it to root the Nexus 7?

So can I make it unrooted again when I dont want the root anymore, like I can do with a jailbreak on Apple devices?

if your looking for hours of headaces, Roms with no apps stores, Stock recovery roms that just abort. Playstores.apk that just **** with you by flashing the store and then closing, Yea this has been great so far CM and Liquid and I cant even get an app store to run on either

You jumped into flashing without doing your homework. It's a fun process but you need to do a little reading and have patience. I touched on you forgetting to flash GApps in the other thread.. Going forward if you run into issues just ask here, someone like myself is usually around to help :)

Yes, it is possible to unroot your device and return it to stock.

There are a lot of posts explaining root but the basic premise is that it grants you greater control over your device. You will be able to load custom ROMs that can run faster and be customized more than the stock OS. There are also apps that require root access of your device to operate that can backup your apps, wireless tethering and USB access.

I rooted my Nexus 7 in order to speed it up a little bit, I'm always looking to eliminate lag. I also use my Nexus 7 to edit pictures and watch movies on the go which has made the ability to read USB flash memory with an app that requires root invaluable.

I would definitely be sure to do a lot of research before rooting for the first time. Try and Google "why should I root my android?" for a more cursory knowledge of root.
