Is Lollipop too heavy for an Lg G4C?

I find the G4C to be really sluggish to the point where it's frustrating to use. I've not got anything installed other than the default apps.

Its a low spec phone but I don't think my S2 was ever this slow. Do you think a downgrade to 4.4 would enhance speed?
