Is Mobile Hotspot unlocked on the Moto X Pure Edition?

Re: Wifi tether

I have an unlimited data plan with Verizon and it hasn't checked for tethering subscription. I haven't received my first bill using Moto X pure.. I won't know for sure till next month's bill.

Re: Wifi tether

Since this phone is unlocked will I be able to turn on the mobile hotspot (verizon) with out extra charges? I'm going to purchase directly from Motorola and move my sim from S5 over.

Yes. Works fine right out of the box. I have Verizon with unlimited data.

Re: Wifi tether

Looks like I've been corrected. I thought this was fixed shortly after launch.

Re: Wifi tether

No reason for them to charge for tethering any longer. They make their money on data usage. So go ahead and use it up! Even those on unlimited data are now paying something like $20.00 more per month. So if those with unlimited data continue to use multiple gigabytes of data Verizon will either completely discontinue unlimited data, or they will just up the monthly charge for it again. You cannot win when you're up against Big Red!

..only if you're out of contract.

Verizon hotspot still working after MM update? (UDP)

Can anyone confirm the mobile hotspot still works on Verizon grandfathered unlimited data plans after marshmallow update?

How were you able to edit that file. I opened the file in es file explorer, added the string to the end, and tried to save it. But the saving failed. What was your plan of attack?

I had to root, and add a line to the end of the build.prop file

net.tethering.noprovisioning=true

Now it works fine.
