Is My Galaxy S9 plus’s battery life in the average?

I’ve just got my new S9+ and I’m so curious whether its battery is in the average or not. It’s fully charged at 12pm and I started using it for 3h 30mn and it dropped to 55%... (I used it 3h and a half straight mainly on Facebook and YouTube without gaming)
PS: I didn’t first time charge it 5h or 8h... I just fully charged it and unplugged when i first got it...

I mean if you were on Facebook/youtube for 3+ hours straight, that's not the worse battery drain. Check your battery usage app for more details on your battery use.

That sounds like 3-1/2 hours of steady screen on time, and since the screen is the largest battery consumer, 55% is about right. Although I'd suggest that you change your battery habits to charging to 80%, discharging no lower than 40% before charging, for longest battery life. I don't know if Samsung still does it, but I wouldn't want to be without my phone for a few weeks every 6 months and pay $60 (plus shipping and insurance) to get the battery replaced.

Yes, that's what they means. Just get into the habit of charging it to 80% and unplugging. And it's okay if sometimes, you have to charge it up to 100% , just don't do it all the time. And when your battery gets to 40%, plug in your phone and charge it.

This is hard to do I'm suspecting for many myself included. I plug my phone in when I go to bed and it's stays plugged in until I wake up. I unplug, use the phone throughout the day and usually goes to approx 30-40% before bed then I repeat.

It is. I'm use to charging my phone up to 100% and on some occasions, I need my phone charged up to 100%. I can't always unplug at 80%. Especially if you have a long day and you aren't going to be anywhere near an outlet or you're not going have a chance to re-charge it. Yeah, I'm sure this is pretty hard to do for a lot of people. People who just charge it over night or something . Or maybe someone can't sit and watch their phone get up to 80% and unplug the charger.


With my S7 edge, just on Friday nights, I would charge my phone over night. And some other times too.
