I bought a New supposedly Unlocked LG Stylo 6 off of ebay.
Factory sealed in a LG Box. No carrier markings on box. No sim card.
I've tried searching this and can't get a satisfactory answer.
Is this phone really unlocked.

What worries me, if I go to settings, status. At the bottom of the page it lists Boost as the Brand.
Not Boost Mobile. Just the single word Boost.

You haven't described a problem. Honestly I can't answer whether it's unlocked or not but my question is, what happens when you put your SIM in? Does the phone work? Are you having issues? Did you take it to your carrier for activation, verification that it'll work on their network, anything?

I don't know without a SIM card but most branded phones have their brand on a splash screen when the device is powered on.

I checked. It has the Boost Mobile logo on the splash screen. I'm on Boost Mobile now. Unfortunately my current phone has a broken sim card door so I can't test it with my sim card.
I can't activate it until after I get paid on the 1st.
Not activating it at a store. Already bought a T Mobile sim.

If it has the Boost splash without a SIM it's a branded phone. I can't speculate as to why it was described as unlocked. On one hand it's branded for your network so that's good. On the other it comes with all the Boost bloat.

I'm dropping Boost Mobile because of the changes after the buy out. Before the buy out I had truly unlimited service. Now I don't.
I called Boost Mobile and the phone is Carrier locked to Boost, so it will have to go back.

Got in touch with the seller. No idea why Boost is claiming it's Carrier locked. It isn't.

Instructions to check to see if your Android phone is unlocked. Sent to me by the seller. If you dont have a sim to test it with.
It was originally a Boost phone that was unlocked.

Go to settings.
Scroll down and Click on System
Click on System Updates
See UICC Unlock
This is the phone unlock status
Underneath it should say it will work with any carrier.

Do not Click on UICC Unlock.
