Is Nexus 5 still a good buy?

Just in case if anyone is interested in what I've done since the past few days of owning the Nexus 5.

On day one I used the phone for a few hours, I loved it(still do) but I just wanted to try Cyanogenmod sadly there are no stable builds for Nexus 5(weird) so I tried a snapshot build(Google it).

Cyanogenmod was so awesome at first! Especially in the camera speed, it made shutter speed lightning fast and no bugs but no HDR mode either.

After a day of Cyanogenmod use I went back to Stock to get my HDR mode back and am still running Stock with no problems.

As far as performance goes it is well. Amazing. And don't take what the reviewers say seriously, they haven't updated their reviews after the 4.4.2 update.

The camera performs exceptionally well in bright daylight and due to OIS also manages to take amazing lowlight shots, it also pulls off some crazy macros.

The device is amazing, thank you guys. :)

Glad you're enjoying it, and nice picture!

I know this is technically a separate issue but is it likely that the Play store will repeat last year's sale in late August? Here in the UK the Nexus 4s were discounted by ~£90 or so if I recall correctly. I'm still using my N4 but would like to upgrade though not desperately as it is still a strong phone albeit with a poor camera.

It's an interesting question, considering the rumors that are flying around. If the next Nexus phone is in fact a 6" monster, then I would hope that they continue selling the Nexus 5, since I don't think a 6" phone is as generally marketable as a 5" one. If that's the case, don't expect too much of a price drop. If, on the other hand, Google comes out with a new Nexus phone that is around the same size as the current N5, then I would expect a significant price cut.

I guess you're right, it would be silly to make a 5.9in/6in phone their new flagship unless it was all display and zero bezel...which would be impossible surely?

Nexus 4 is still a very capable device and the Nexus 4 has a pretty good camera, especially in bright light.

Haha I kind of wish this is true. A similar rumor like this was being spread last year where people said Nexus 5 would be sold alongside the 4G enabled Nexus 4.

The interesting thing is that the 4G could be enabled by a software update as Nexus 4 was 4G capable however it wasn't enabled in Stock.

Sadly the N4 has very limited 4g band support and it's one thing I'm missing as UK 4g coverage is now expanding vastly.
I guess we'll find out in 4 weeks if or not flash sale happens.

Haha you are lucky enough to have 4G. Most countries don't and honestly 3G is fine for most tasks.

Well 4G brings far greater upload rate which has various uses and most importantly, for some networks they are using band 20 for rural areas which means much greater range. At present I visit some friends who are in villages but when 4G comes to their area I'll get some signal even inside as 800MHz has good wall penetration.
