Is price deterring you from purchase?

I was a bit wide-eyed at the pricing structure here. $750 for the regular and $850 for the plus is higher than we have seen most flagships. At T-Mobile, the plus is asking for a $130 down payment.

Is anyone not purchasing due to the price? Did anyone here go to the G6 at $650 due to price?

No. Buying it on the Samsung Upgrade programme for about £29 per month. I can afford that.

Best Buy is offering $100 off which is why I went with the S8+

Price is deterring me from getting the Note 8 because I have a feeling it would be $900+

The S8+ is the same price the Note 7 was last year at T-Mobile. Some people were thinking this phone was going to be about $1000.

Right now, you can get an LG V20 for $480 And a Galaxy S7 edge for $480 at T-Mobile.

Is the s8 worth the extra near $400?

I buy my phones sim free and Factory unlocked.

With this in mind I always put a set amount of cash away throughout the year in a bank account.

That way the funds are in place.

Sometimes selling my current phone too if I want to.

I'd probably purchase the S8 Plus unlocked if it's around the same price as the carriers are charging I will be heading down to a brick & morter / carrier to get a feel for the phone before I decide on making the purchase I'm also really interested in what all the reviewers have to say about the device before I think of making the purchase.

The s8 offers more than the $650 iPhone 7 ( IP68, 64gb, Ram, Free gear VR, higher resolution screen, earphone jack, mobile payment without NFC. And the s8 starts at $720 and not $750.

Oh yeah. I've been buying Samsung since the e700 colour flip phone. Then the D600 Slider, to the Omnia HD, then galaxy series phones. I'm using s OnePlus now because I can't justify the raising prices of the main flagship phones.

If a small Chinese start up can put out a flagship for such a low price, a major company like Samsung with all it's purchasing power clearly has a hefty profit margin on it's phone. The prices will only rise as long as people agree to pay it

S8 is an investment for 2+ years. I am more concern about SW updates ( new Android and Security patches). the reason i will think twice

I'm with you I have the LG G4, (boot loop replacement), before that was the GALAXY S2. I'm OK with waiting for the right phone, but want to pull the trigger on something every year. 6.2" with VR does sound enticing, but close to a G, is crazy!

I told myself last time I bought a phone I was going to go Factory Unlocked, but didn't, and regret that. I bricked my S2, and waited a week, using my old Blackberry Bold, (Ugh!) and bought the G4 on the 2nd day it came out. Would have bought the 1st day, but I was next in line and watched the guy in front of me buy the last one. I was too impatient to wait for an unlocked version, the Balckberry's 2G-3G was killing me. especially the WAP browser rendering, everything was timing out. That phone was not meant for now day's web pages.
