I have heard that to avoid piracy their now going to encrypt apks.. on jellybean

Doesn't this mean vzn customers will no longer be able to side load Google wallet? (Or any other apps?)

Google Wallet is part of JB so after the OTA comes out it won't matter.

Not true.. I expect it will not come on Verizon devices. Yes we get it included on our custom ROMs because we're awesome :)

To the OP.. really not sure, don't know much about the app encryption or even if Google's apps are going to be encrypted like that. Really until we know anything more there's no reason to speculate or say the sky is falling, lol. We'll see how it turns out.

You're right... I just hadn't heard anything solid, but I certainly hope this won't be the case

Wallet is a free app. Why would they encrypt free apps? Doesn't make sense to me.

It's time for Google to realize that, while the DROID branding did wonders for the platform, they now have enough clout to stick it to Verizon and say enough is enough. What would Verizon be if Android manufacturers said no to locked bootloaders. VZ wouldn't pass on every device. Google needs to(sorry for this fellas)take the apple route with this one.
