I mean the actual stock browser on ICS and JB? I've tried ICS Browser+ off the Play store and it seems to be the closest one, and miles better than the stock one on the device.

Are you rooted? I know the aosp browser is in Clean ROM, so you could pull the apk out of the zip and replace the browser on your phone with it using root explorer.

You don't need to be rooted to install (sideload) apps.

There you go! Make sure you have install from unknown sources checked in settings.

Isn't the browser in /system/apps? I thought you had to mount the system partition as RW to be able to install/overwrite there, which I thought required root?

Yeah, forgot about that. But Chrome on Android is still a little on the beta side.

have you try it? it's not in beta anymore. pretty stable for me. at least it's as stable as the old browser. chrome will only get better as more and more site changing to html5 instead of flash.

I also use Chrome and haven't had any issues it's 100 times better then the stock browser IMHO

Chrome mobile is better than the default ICS browser in just about every way, except it lacks Flash support.
