I don't even know why this is an issue? the EVO is a DROID..... It's an Android phone and Droid is just short for Android.... Verizon just happens to pay Lucas Films to use the Droid name.... It's probably also part of the reason Verizon is more expensive... They have to pay to use the name and Sprint chooses not to.

It's not like they are calling it an iPhone which isn't even the same OS... But Droid?

It would be like me correcting every one who called me Rob instead of Robert...... "Hey your Rob right?" "NO!!!! My name is ROBERT.."

Or do this..... Tell me the difference between a Droid and an Android phone?

Droid is just Verizon's branding of their high end android offerings. I have no problem with people calling my EVO a droid because it IS a high end android phone (if not the highest end).

Even my doctor thought it was a Droid but he realized it was an evo upon closer examination, he pulled out his hero and I saw the lust in his eyes haha

Its not an issue, its just conversation. No one is losing sleep over any of this. Hell, even my wall paper says "evodroid".

Android is an operating system, like Windows. Droid is verizon's moniker for their line of android devices.

Not too complicated.

I don't explain anything. Unless they also have a rooted Evo then I just simply look at them flatly and tell them that my phone is better than theirs and walk away.

A month ago, I've gotten a couple questions asked if it was an droid (and I've either said "yes" or "its a type of droid phone")

As of late, people have been asking me if its an Evo...

I swear i've been asked the question about 7 or 8 times so far (speaking of which, one of my classmates even asked me if it was an Evo after I pulled it out....the phone, that is )
