Is the camera any better?

Worst Camera Especially the Focus Issue i compared to the Note10 Plus , And to be Honest Pictures look way better on the Note10 Plus then the S20 Ultra and it's all over the web S20 Ultra Camera is Horrible In certain Things.

Edit: I also returned My S20 Ultra It's just not worth the 1,400 compared to the Note10 Plus, The other S20 Ultra that i bought my son decided to keep it since he was on a S9.

So unfortunately S20 has this lens flare....image without flare is Note 10. I couldn't get rid of that flare too, moved camera etc but the sun hit it just at the right angle (70 degrees maybe) all the time. 64mp doesnt have this, only the main wide lens

Took some outdoor pics today and couple indoor last night. Definitely an improvement over my Note 9.

Another comparison video. I'm disappointed with the S20, seems like the same type of processing Samsung has done on previous phones. Pics also see very soft to me, which should be the opposite compared to the hardware in the device.

I took a couple of photos last night of my daughter in Live Focus mode and while they were ok, my previous iPhone 11 Pro's portrait pics looked so much better, like you would almost think it was shot with a DSLR.

I need to test it some more maybe I didn't hold the phone still enough but the initial impression was underwhelming.

I haven't had enough time with it to tell if the cameras any better but as I get used to it I'll be able to make a better comparison

Which S20 model do you have?

Exactly and not iPhone bias. There's no doubt even though people are complaining about the cameras when you zoom in on the actual photos you can see that they are very good at being sharp and retaining detail especially when compared to the 11 pro cameras. I'm not falling for the hype. Could the cameras/software on the S20 Ultra be better? Yes. Are they bad enough to make me not like the phone or not want to take pics? No Every manufacturer has room for improvement.
Really great comparison! First vid I have seen that makes me want the camera on the ultra.

I think smoothing and details are better on S20 then on N10, plus on top of it you have an option to shot 64mp and then details are even better/sharper. So far i see 2 issues, shutter lag and that lens flare that I posted. I'll take some more pictures outside today, see if that lens flare is actually an issue for me.
Samsung should really work on Sport mode, I cant imagine it being hard to do or just Shutter Priority setting

Yeah... I think all devices would benefit from from different scene modes like dedicated cameras have instead of one size fits all. Even the Pixel who's automode is pretty much second to none with it's A.I. could benefit.

Sport mode was nothing more than increasing shutter speed and ISO, something that is easily achieved in pro mode. Shutter priority would be nice to have.

Yes I know, but it would be nice to get that done automatically while keeping the picture decent, maybe add some processing etc. By the time I select ISO and shutter, the shot is gone. And other times what I select isn't good.l enough.
Which shutter speed do you have to use outside in order to have moving objects sharp?

1/500 is usually a good starting point. Just adjust the ISO after setting shutter to a desirable brightness in preview

I took some shots again today of peoples faces indoors (dont want to post here). The results are pretty consistent....Note 10 horrible, not even usable, S20 much better and acceptable, and Pixel 4 nails the skin tones, very natural.
When I showed Note 10 pictures to my wife, her reaction was Oh My God :) yeah that's how bad they are

Very tempted to keep S20. Not sure if I want to wait 6 months for Note 20 or 8 months for Pixel 5.

This still does not solve the issue of being concerned about the shot being gone after messing with the settings in Pro mode. It's not as practical for kids/animals, which is commonly why many of us want cameras to do a better job with moving objects indoors.

I partially agree about the details. In good lighting conditions the S20 is definitely better. However, I am getting much better sharpness and detail from the Note 10 in lower light conditions.

Seems to be hit or miss. I just tested indoors and they are somewhat similar, Pixel 4 again did a better job with white balancing and colors but details are the same. In 64mp Samsung looks alot sharper

I am getting tired of testing....Samsung gets white balancing way off. Probably have to either settle for this or wait for Pixel 5 and hope that Google doesnt screw up too much. I can almost guarantee their new revolutionary Pixel 5 feature would be ultra wide angle lens
