Google Play - "App not available in your country"

Hi, I am new to Android and Moto X is my first Android phone.
I have purchased the used Moto in the US (otherwise it was impossible for me to buy the new one as I wanted), I come from Poland where I still keep my awesomest on the planet internationally working bank account with debit card.
I currently live in Guadeloupe (French Caribbean island).

I've had a problem with the Google Play store - many apps are not available with the info "not available in your location".

I've had this with Spotify (that I pay for!!!), and now I tried to get the Timely Alarm Clock - same problem.

I have checked my google wallet and it is set up with my one and only debit card from poland.

What is causing this uncomfortable problem?
I was surprised to see that I cannot contact Google with this problem directly (and their FAQ doesnt cover this topic).
Internet solution is for people who change countries and payments, I have only used one - the polish card. Furthermore my card is connected with the Google Drive plan so I cannot remove and re-add it (as people recommend to do when the location on google play goes crazy).

I am really surprised to see this. And after all, why wouldnt sth like an Alarm Clock that is FREE be available in just ANY country?

(BTW the Spotify IS available in Poland, so that message is a bug, error or whatever else but definitely not true, and I bet same goes for the Alarm Clock).

Have you tried using a VPN app to 'mask' your IP address? I believe not only the card plays a part here. Try Hola Unblocker to make the store 'think' you're in Poland.

Hi, yes of course, Ive gone through their FAQ (dont see any possible way to contact them directly) and it doesn't cover my problem.

I have tried one software that used Proxy if I recall correctly, still didn't work with spotify.
Tried Hola Unblocker just now and it still wont work.

Im thinking it has to have to do with the fact that my account with card is set to Poland but Im in France. Or with the fact that my phone was purchased in the US (I think I found some discussions on the internet regarding that).

In any case, this is a very weird experience. I managed with Spotify, coz their board was helpful, however I cannot update the app for example.

Re: Google Play - "App not available in your country"

I forgot one little detail: Does your phone have a French SIM card? I think that on phones the store takes geoinformation from the SIM card/carrier as well. If that's the case, even a VPN might not be enough.

Maybe this doesn't work in Guadeloupe, but in the US, when I access that support site and click on Contact Us, first I select "Android Apps and Games," and then "Other." Then two buttons appear at the bottom of that window--"Request a Call" and "Chat with Us." Do you see that?

This is what I get. No way to contact them directly.

I dont have the polsih sim card (left it in poland) to check if it would work. However, all that just seems retarded - I cannot be travelling and using other pre paid sim cards or just live abroad? That is fascism.
I change countries a lot, travel all the time, use pre paid cards. It shouldn't affect how I use apps.

Re: Google Play - "App not available in your country"

It shouldn't affect how you use them but it does affect how you can acquire them. Georestriction is nothing new and applies to a lot of industries (songs not available to all countries, movies delayed in some regions, streaming services with different content or no availability in certain regions, etc.). To Google, while using a phone, your SIM card and carrier dictate the region you're living in. If you moved from a country that allowed a certain app to be downloaded, you can still use the app, but you can't download it from a country where it's not available IF you moved to that country. If your account is set to still be living in Poland, you can download apps available at the Polish store even if you travel. But if you're living in France and your carrier is set to that, then only the French store will be available to you.

So thats not that either I think...

Re: Google Play - "App not available in your country"

can any body help to purchase a new google account i need in bulk form.

Re: Google Play - "App not available in your country"

Just tried to download some other apps, like swiftkey, again, the same problem. "Not available in your country".
I am getting really angry .
Google provides no support whatsoever.
BTW - Google Now also doesn't work here apparently (for whatever reason).

I tried posting on Googles forum (thats the closest I got to getting support from them) and they moved my question to some completely unrelated topic, ignoring my email answer to them that they've done a mistake.
Clearly they don't even read those questions.

This makes me really angry, as I purchased a phone with limited or very limited functionality!
Wasn't Android supposed to be all about freedom?

Can someone please tell me what I can do in this situation? Some apps (facebook, etc) are available so why arent other geographically independent like swiftkey not??

Again, and I'm sorry it's not the way we all want it to be, but some apps are just not available to all countries. For legal reasons, for copyright reasons, for in-app purchasing restrictions... Maybe that country doesn't support in-app purchasing, so all apps that have this might get blocked.
