Is the htc evo lte really worth the hype??

Here are some night shots

Notice how the One X looks to have a yellowish discoloration. I think the One X is getting smoked here.

Actually, the OneX picture looks better IMO. The GN pic looks washed out while the OneX Pic looks more colorfu and smootherl and not has brighted out.

I agree that these pics look like crap, but that could be for any number of reasons. Software issues, early model unit, Settings issues and so on. I would need to see comparison shots from other reviewers to make a judgement. Pretty much every review I have read on the OneX camera have given it high praise.

Every review of the OneX praises its camera, but here the pics look terrible compared to the GN's supposed sub par camera.

I know i was surprised myself. And i had already jumped on the htc evo 4g lte bandwagon but it looks like i made a transfer to the samsung galaxy nexus bandwagon lol.

Well here is the link to a nice article from phonearena.com they put 5 phones:
Htc One X
Galaxy S II
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Nokia N8
Iphone 4s

head to head in a camera showdown. And it looks like the Htc one X doesnt live up to it hype.

Again, that link, as well as the others you have posted all come from phonearena. I will wait until I see some AndroidCentral, Engadget, CNET or PhoneScoop Comparison tests before I decide to jump ship on this device. This was one opinion out of many credible reviewers who think otherwise. We will just have to wait and see. I guarantee you someone will post more comparison shots. For right now, I'm still on track to get that Evo LTE.

True but the proof is in the pudding. Those pictures are hard proof. The nexus takes better pictures. And as for Androidcentral Phil is a Htc advocate. So we cant use phil.. Lol But it seems the phone arena is one of the only websites who isnt afraid to put phones head to head. Ive check theverge.com, Engadget, cnet, and no one has such a full in depth review and comparison.

Which is why we wait... We have nothing but time. Neither the Evo LTE or the GS3 or Sprint Galaxy Nexus LTE is available. So we have time. Again, I point out that Phil was not the only reviewer who praised the camera. In fact quite a few other big tech sites gave high accolades... Its not wise to base a purchasing decision off of one review comparison that may or may not be flawed. We need more info. That's all I'm saying.

Coming from a Nexus owner, if it is the same screen it looks like that is worth the price of admission alone. Now if only they kept the same body...

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2

Well I say go ahead and go with the Nexus. Let's remember what's really important. Your preferences. If you feel the nexus is the better phone for you, I am behind you.(Plus that means there is one less person who could be ahead of me getting my Evo 4G LTE :D)

I have the galaxy nexus on Verizon the camera blows and I am running 4.0.4 once you get into low light its grainy and it looks like crap I hate the camera on this thing. Even with the zero shutter lag the one x is faster. I really wouldn't listen to phone arena. They said the 4g bands are 800/1900mhz which is only 1900mhz

Idk I've seen nothing but great pics from nexus users. Now this is a horrible picture shot with my evo 3D

The comments on that review are not very friendly to the reviewer. I would not trust that review. If the camera really is that bad then we should see other reviews similar to this.

I agree that we should see some more reviews that pit these two head to head. But the odd thing is that you can't find any other ones that really focus on camera quality. Something just not right here. Either some people are being payed off or maybe htc has "requested" it not to happen.

This is a picture from my galaxy nexus in low lighting. That blanket on my dog is laying on is white not yellowish. I had to change settings just to get a picture I could see

The colors are not natural on it and doesn't have hdr for low lighting. The colors are over saturated when in normal light

Any and all cell phones are going to give you horrible pics in low light situations. Thats why we have flash.

Agreed but the sensor in this thing isn't back lit or anything and has a low aperture so I doesnt allow much light in. This phone hands down won't beat the one x. You might think so and you can think and do whatever you want but it just won't. Also the s4 chip is stronger then the omap 4460
