Is the htc evo lte really worth the hype??

That's the thing about hype, we never know if it was worth the hype until after the fact. We have to wait til we get it in our greedy little hands and decide if it was overblown or spot on. I know its more or less the same phone as the one x and the changes are mostly cosmetic and not performance but unless I missed it, I don't thank i have seen any reviews on the ATT version which would be the closest to the Sprint one. I've only seen reviews on the international version with the Tegra quad core. So until someone gets to spend some quality time with a actual unit with the hardware and software that we the consumer will see, then I will have to hold judgement on this totally cool and awesome phone. oops. so much for objectivity. :D

So basically one phone has gotten the update before a 2yr old nexus. Tablets don't count because there is no carrier involvement. That sounds pretty great to me actually, imagine that you have had a nexus phone for two years now and within a 6 months period of announcement you will be updated to Key Lime Pie android 6.0.2

I just wanna point out that The Nexus S is NOT 2 years old. Its less than a year and a half old. It came out in December 2010. Its successor, the Galaxy nexus came out almost a year later with ICS and it took months for the Nexus S 4G (A phone that is technically only a year old since it launched on Sprint this time last year). I'm not saying that Nexus phones are not good phones. I'm just saying that they aren't all they are not the Awesome phones that they are hyped up to be.

haha, you pretty much said everything I wanted to say except I was too lazy to go into. this topic had been talking about for too much, and I just don't want to get off topic too much. yeah, those are a few of the reasons why I'm considering getting an evo instead. I actually don't mind sense too much. couple things I missed are the t9 dialer and the stock widget it has. the camera is also important to me since my phone is the only camera I have. I was planning to get the galaxy nexus first, then sell it later for the evo, but as I thought about it more, I think I will just hold out for the evo.

I'm sure this has been mentioned in the 6 pages between the OP and here, but just remember that the E4GL is NOT the same as the One X. The camera has been tweaked specifically, as has the software running it. Whatever the One X shows in performance will not necessarily reflect what the E4GL is capable of in the real world. You'll feel really silly if you jump for the Nexus pre-order and then find out that the E4GL was actually better even in the camera department once it is released.

So, like all things, you should wait and see for yourself which you prefer. And that means wait until they're both released. I personally am certain about the E4GL being a better phone. I trust HTC, the Krait processor, and my own experience with the original Evo more than a single review comparing what is really a different phone.

I found my self asking myself, Htc Evo 4g lte or Samsung Galaxy Nexus?? So i did a little research and i found a review for the htc one x. which is basically the htc evo 4g lte. i was actually surprise the nexus trumps the Htc evo 4g lte. I was sold on the Evo, but now i think i may go nexus. The main attraction to the one x/evo is the camera and its said that the Nexus camera actually takes better pictures, apparently the one x/evo makes the pictures come out with a blue hue. Well anyway here is the video link:

HTC One X vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus - YouTube

Okay first of all the Htc evo 4g lte ins't going to be just like the one x, they are actually going to be quit different. Plus since the phone hasn't even come out yet we don't really know anything about the quality of the phone, because things can still change and they will. This whole conversation was started by someone who is apparently in lack of some brain cells and is completely mind blowing to me that you can have a conversation about a phone that you have never seen in your life. Yes there are different post about the phone but none of them are going ot be accurate. People are just trying to act like they know what is going on. So wait tell the phone comes out and then you can have a conversation about it that might actually be backed up by some actual facts. Insead of things that you find while you're searching the web.

OK first off grow up. It's just a phone and just an opinion of a phone. Second there no need for name calling. Next thisbis why we have internet, so we can research things. I don't have to physically have a ohonevin my hand to decide which is better for me. Oh and proof read much. Lmao

Notice how the One X looks to have a yellowish discoloration. I think the One X is getting smoked here.

The One X looks better too me..I don't like the over brightness or whiteness of the Nexus..Besides Id never spend my money on another samsung product after this POS Epic touch..Poor signal, wifi stinks, GPS stinks, call quality stinks and the speaker quality is heavily distorted.

I love my Epic 4g Touch but I also have a soft spot for HTC in my heart (first and second and third android phones for me). I know that the Galaxy Nexus has developer support and updates from Google but I just cant see picking it over the E4GLTE. No matter how you look at it its older hardware. People have complained about the lte versions having the Snapdragon S4 as opposed to the Tegra 3 but honestly every technical site I go to is screaming how well the S4 stacks up to the Tegra 3 and that the 2 chips are at minimum equal to one another. Dont get me wrong the Galaxy Nexus is a great device but as with almost all Nexus devices its last years technology. The Nexus that is released this year will probably be the Tegra 3 or S4 just wait and see lol. And after watching the linked video all I have to say is this, If you come to these forums Im guessing you are a power Android user, with that being said look at hardware because with rooting and software tweaks almost all of the reviewers problems with either of the phones are nullified. When I look for new devices I am almost 100% looking at hardware and not software. Wether an Evo or Nexus we have awesome developers.
