Is the new version SIM unlocked?

No positive confirmation yet on SIM unlock. Some reporting AT&T saying it is. One person on XDA reported that the TMo SIM used in previous version didn't work, but it sounded like a TMo IMEI issue rather than SIM lock.

I am going to try to snag one in store today. I have a new Truphone SIM to try with it, which reportedly worked well with the last release.

The person in XDA tried the tmo wearables sim in it, so that's no indication whether this version is sim locked or not. The last version did not work with the Tmo wearables sim either but it was unlocked.

AT&T company store won't sell me one without service. Also won't sell it at full price. Say I have to get it on contract or on Next.

i am on Tmo, just got one from ATT store with full price . i told the guy i do not have accnt with ATT, he said i can still buy for full price

Yup. Called another store and they told me the same thing. I hate AT&T, but Verizon is worse and TMo is on edge or nothing in rural Pennsylvania and Sprint is slow as edge since they give everyone unlimited data. I will try to check a couple more stores tomorrow. Or I will just pay and order online and have to add to my account and pay 15 activation and at least partial month service and cancel my service.

Anyone that bought, did you get it at a corporate store or a reseller? Sometimes it's hard to tell which it is unless you check their website. I haven't found resellers that have it yet.

Just got mine in Fort Worth TX. Paid full price and out the doot. It was the only one they got in today. No trouble whatsoever. I don't think i'm gonna activate it. I think it's still an outstanding price compared to the others on the market. The big plus for me was the huge battery. Without lte enabled it will be even better.

Makes no sense. Why would they post the full price without service if you can't get it without service. I heard the same was happening to some people back in November.

I got mine last November in a corporate (I think) store and told them I would not use the cellular.

It's just some stores being assholes because they want to sell it to a customer who will buy it on contact. They get commission for that. I don't think they get any commission for customers buying devices for full price.

I went to a local store at lunch today and picked it up. They also had only gotten one in. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Did not activate it.

I'd be very interested in a comparison between it and your Omate for tracking runs. There is a round full Android watch I've been eying for a few months now, and I keep wondering what i may be missing by not buying it and wearing it on the other wrist. Geeky, I know.

I haven't used wear at all yet. I'm pretty happy with Pebble for notifications and might still only use the LG for runs and stuff. The Omate is just a little janky, but full Android is nice. I have paired it to my Pebble a couple times to run with always on display and buttons since touch is terrible when sweaty. Problem is that I can't pair pebble time and even before it would have connection issues and I have to start over with pairing. Omate GPS is good, but it can definitely take 15min to lock without a data connection. Also occasionally the radios reset on Omate. I notice because BT headphones stop also. I pause and GPS and BT are back in a minute, but wifi is gone until reboot. It still does what I need, but want to try wear and more and more apps don't play well on the tiny display. I use a really old version of Endomondo on it that is great, but anything from past couple years doesn't fit on screen.

Stupid me i broke a post off the plastic sim tool already lol. Still works but hopefully we can get one aftermarket at some point. Also hoping for a tempered glass protector.

I read somewhere a rubber ball works to remove the back of the watch. Lol it isn't the best solution but if it works it works.

Yea only one pin broke and i will probably never need it. its just one of those things lol.
