Is the notch a deal breaker?

I own both the 2 XL and the LG V30. I was going to switch my daily driver back to the Pixel, but with that notch coming down the road, I'll take my chances that LG will skip the notch on the V30.

Having a notch is just another reason not to get. Never understood why every phone is following iPhone. I thought the reason why iPhone had a notch is technical problem that they didn't find a place to put the front camera and that they have the 3D sensor. So why are all manufacturers following a flaw?

Sure. What I mean is how is notch any better than the normal "forehead" that would contain those items? The extra two bits of screen won't be of any use.

That's my issue with it, too. Those extra bits aren't enough to claim that you're getting a more immersive viewing experience even when the 2 halves of your status bar aren't showing, so what's the point?

The problem with the notch is not that it's a deal breaker; it's that the notch is not a deal closer. I'm still waiting to hear something about the 3 XL that'll make me say, "I gotta have it."

Sorry for confusing you. It is just a test item for developers in developers options. It isn't a "feature" of the Pixel 2 XL in Android P. You most certainly do NOT need a notch in the 2XL and if you don't activate the feature in developers options you will never even know that the test notch even exists.

I need a new phone.
They made the glass back suposely so wireless charging would work. I'd rather have a plastic back.

I like wireless changing . Got used to it with the Samsung phones.
Do I like the Big Notch. Guess you can figure that out.
