Is the S22 Ultra still worth it?

Best phone is subjective to each user. All the flagship phones are good phones, just depends on what the individual considers best for them.

It sounds like you'd be happy with the Ultra. The Pixel 7 can be ordered on October 6th and that's what I plan to do. But I have been a Nexus/Pixel user almost exclusively since the Galaxy S. If I did not enjoy/utilize the Pixel exclusive features like I do, I'd buy a S22 Ultra.

They are great phones and I think they're capable of being reliable and solid for the duration of their support cycle (even if it meant you needed to pony up the cash for a battery replacement after a few years).

Samsung makes solid hardware and you need to go with what you're comfortable with.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Still waiting to see what happens at work but if I get the opportunity I think I will be getting the S22 Ultra. Now the next question to decide on is what color to get haha. It would be through Verizon so the options are limited to the standard colors not the Samsung exclusive. I don't think I am going with black on this one. I am torn between the white, burgundy, and green. Will most likely be in a Spigen clear case.

Ah, the colour debate. Another matter entirely, yes? Samsung has a beautiful arrangement of colours this year! Hopefully you get something you like!

I have the white (accidentally), unlocked from Samsung. I could have sworn I had the black selected. It's very limiting in the phone case selection, IMHO, so I'm stuck with the clear case. Black case on this phone is quite ugly .

I almost selected the wrong color before going back and forth editing the cart somehow it changed but i caught it.

When ordering on Samsung I find myself looking the order over and over and over before hitting the place order button. There's always so many variables that you have to double and triple check. Even after that I've found times I had to cancel the order to make a change.

Any phone is still worth it in it's first year unless you're like a month or two from the release of new one, even then the new release will have minimal improvements over current model.

Plus you'll most likely be able to get the current phone for hundreds of dollars off the price because the new one is just coming out. That's why I just picked up a pixel 6 Pro ....and getting a phone later in the year gives the manufacturer time to work out the bugs all new devices come with

Well you should be able to get it a lot cheaper, it's older and the new version is out. . I plan on keeping my eyes open on the S22U or even the S22+ for a good black Friday sale. I need to get a back up as I gave my back up to the wife. So hopefully I can score one. I'll probably go the S22+, it's cheaper and it's just a back up to use if one of ours needs to be sent in our something.

I have the Otterbox Symmetry clear and black. The black is too slippery for my taste. The clear has a nice tacky feel to it. I've always used Otterbox. Whenever I've tried other cases, they always feel so insubstantial by comparison.

I have the Samsung Leather Case in burgundy. With former phones I used to have several cases and to switch them sometimes, but the Leather Case is perfect for my taste

I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear case. If I get an Otterbox, it will be the commuter in black. However, any color besides clear, black or white would look hideous to me with a white phone.

Another S22 Ultra lover here. I too plan to keep mine for a few years. These devices are getting to expensive to change every 2 years.
