Re: Is there a "How to root" manual for those of us using Apple c
Hi everyone,
I just spent an entire day searching for a working root from my mac.
I use Samsung Galaxy S II (I9100T), and I could not get Heimdall to recognise my phone, or odin (on windows running in VMWare Fusion, or using Mono).
I downloaded, read, and tried stacks of stuff. (Trawled through about 60 forum threads!)
Finally I found the Exynos Exploit hack!
You don't need to bother with any of the other stuff. This one works using a QR code to download an app to the phone, then you click "root". That simple! (Only for certain devices - check the list)
See this thread:
[ROOT EXPLOIT+PATCH][2012.12.19] ExynosAbuse APK v1.40 - xda-developers
Thankyou to the people who made this!
Rooting on Mac! (well, without any computer, actually)
I needed root, only to remove my 100 SMS/hour limit, as I promote events via SMS on my unlimited SMS plan.
Thankyou to everyone who keeps their posts informative, concise, and doesn't ramble on in general conversation, because it saves us all so many headaches!
