Is there a way to permanently dismiss Android 12/UI 4? I have "Auto download over Wi-Fi" turned off but I don't know if that will keep it out. UI 3 was a gigantic leap backwards for me and I have no hope that UI 4 will be any better. After reading about all of the changes contained in Android 12, I definitely do not want it on my phone. I'm old school and have no use for all the bells and whistles and fancy crap. I just need a phone that works as simply as possible for calls, texts, and occasional streaming.

My recording app doesn't work in 12, & phone just restarted for no reason. I've only had 12 since last night!
Is there a way to go back to 11?

Yes.....there several methods but it require wiping the phone in the process. Just do a search.

Alliance Shield X (free)
Or
https://www.packagedisabler.com/

Well, I installed Alliance Shield X but it won't accept the login info that I set up in registration. Keeps saying my password is incorrect. After resetting it several times it still will not accept it. Oh well, it seemed like a good idea but no go. And the faint red on black screens are extremely hard to read.
Maybe contact them through the app otherwise package Disabler pro for a few dollars

Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using AC Forums mobile app

OK I installed Package Disabler Pro, now how do I block Android 12 from being installed, please?
Open package disabler then in search bar type software update , 2 should show up and disable them

AWESOME! Thank you so much. I was also able to easily disable Bixby and Samsung Free, 2 of my biggest pet peeves with this phone. That app is easily worth the $3.27 I paid for it.

You can enable developer mode through your settings and disable auto update system when phone restarts. It will still show the system update at the top of the screen but it won't auto update. In order to surpass that notification I click on my galaxy edge screen n select one of the options on there and it takes u off the notification screen. I've been doing it a year to avoid updating to android 12 and it works
