is there a way to view the total call timer?(starting from the date the Note 2 was activated)

on my al-cheapo Verizon flip phones, there's a setting that displays the lifetime call timer,
monthly caller timer, etc....

does my Note 2 keep this data?

It does; go into the Phone app, tap the "Recent" tab, then hit the "Menu" key and hit "Call duration". At the bottom is time for "All calls".

After I got the most recent 4.1.2 update, I did a factory reset my Note 2, all the timers went to zero....

Yup, a factory reset is going to clear that data (it's stored on the phone's internal memory which gets wiped during a reset).
