No tv-out!!!!
Posted early today at xda. Now I'm seriously debaiting wether I should get the epic. They took out a ton of features wile making it more expensive than the other galaxy s
WTF, there is no post about TV out in the Epic 4g forum over at XDA
Does it really matter is we have DNLA ability OR the use of a microusb to HDMI cable (an expensive little Samsung cable)
I've seen those cables for $5 online. Claiming that cable costs $50 is the same as claiming that HDMI-to-HDMI cables cost $120.
Weird, someone posted a link on here to one for under $4 and it was actually made by Samsung, but for the life of me I can't find it by searching.
Actual websites for $20, ebay for $4
On the link you provided, that one for $20 is a micro-hdmi to hdmi, which is easily confused with micro-usb to hdmi. The $4 isn't HDMI at all. The link does show the correct one, but it is $43.
Literally, someone on this board linked to a $3 or $4 cable, it was the correct one, and it was actually branded with Samsung.
Add another dissapointment to the list. According the guys at Booredatwork, the notification bar brightness adjust feature is missing: YouTube - T-Mobile Vibrant Tips & Tricks - Adjusting Brightness - Samsung Galaxy S
My biggest complaint of the intercept would be that its not as good as the moment. Its pretty much the same, but unresponsive capacitive buttons and evdo rev.0?
1 GB internal ROM of which only about 440 MB is useable, also BGR is reporting some lack of customizations like deleting home screens and customizing the grid on the screens. Also the lock/unlock screen is relatively boring/uninspired from what I understand. However hopefully all of these won't be a serious problem with 2.2 and rooting. However the internal storage is still a potential worry.
Based on this 440MB ROM two questions come to mind:
1. Can applications be installed on the SDHC card?
2. If #1 is NO, then isnt this device crippled??? I don't think 440MB is enough for all the apps I would like to have installed....
