Yeah I saw that post as well made by Kenneth. Also, HiddenIdentity over at sdx said that after an update from a couple days ago, the tv out option is missing. Im assuming he had it at first...

Does it really matter is we have DNLA ability OR the use of a microusb to HDMI cable (an expensive little Samsung cable)

It does matter if you don't have DNLA compatible devices. Well it certainly means they will sell more of their proprietary $50 cables.

I've seen those cables for $5 online. Claiming that cable costs $50 is the same as claiming that HDMI-to-HDMI cables cost $120.

So for everyone complaining about the lock screen on the Epic 4g check this out
YouTube - Samsung Epic 4G Full Review

New review posted today and it shows that just like the other Galaxy S phones notifications show up on the lock screen and with a simple swipe you can be taken directly to your missed calls/texts/voicemail.

Also the video shows off the notification light for missed calls and it is red apparently.

You mind showing where you saw this? All I have seen so far is the one Samsung developed for the Galaxy S phones.

On the link you provided, that one for $20 is a micro-hdmi to hdmi, which is easily confused with micro-usb to hdmi. The $4 isn't HDMI at all. The link does show the correct one, but it is $43.

Why not try micro usb to usb then usb to hdmi? It's much cheaper that way.

EDIT: Argh, it only shows hdmi female to usb male. We would need the opposite. I give up! I can't find existing adapters that would make it cheaper. Looks like we'll have to pay the 50 bucks :(

Literally, someone on this board linked to a $3 or $4 cable, it was the correct one, and it was actually branded with Samsung.

I think you must have dreamt it :p I hope you didn't though, I don't wanna spend $43 on a stupid cable. Frankly, if a special proprietary cable has to be used for a device, it should come with it. It's just a scam so Samsung can tack an extra fee onto the phone.

I was looking at the latest review from boredatwork and I hated how the incoming call screen looked like... Touchwiz (of lack of) really leaves a lot of polish to be desired compared to sense. I still want to take a look at the epic when it releases but if the evo gets 2.2 root before, to fix the fps cap. It loses in my book...

My biggest complaint of the intercept would be that its not as good as the moment. Its pretty much the same, but unresponsive capacitive buttons and evdo rev.0?

Agreed. My mother let a Best Buy rep. talk her into getting the Intercept. I was angry lol. I played around with it for a little bit. It's hard to adjust to that screen lol. It was slower than molassis and half the apps she downloaded wouldn't even work on her odd screen resolution!

1 GB internal ROM of which only about 440 MB is useable, also BGR is reporting some lack of customizations like deleting home screens and customizing the grid on the screens. Also the lock/unlock screen is relatively boring/uninspired from what I understand. However hopefully all of these won't be a serious problem with 2.2 and rooting. However the internal storage is still a potential worry.

Based on this 440MB ROM two questions come to mind:

1. Can applications be installed on the SDHC card?
2. If #1 is NO, then isnt this device crippled??? I don't think 440MB is enough for all the apps I would like to have installed....

I answered for you in the sticky :)
